Quick overnight stay that was best we've had in some while. Good room, good shower and the best bed ever ! Although we didn't get a chance to eat there, the pizzas looked thin and obviously popular locally. Folk friendly and helpful, especially Andrew. Thanks.

Disappointing. Breakfast was meagre with cereals, yoghurt and pastries on the bar to help ourselves. Not much choice, pastries 'tired'. Bedroom needed a thorough Spring clean, wardrobe door not easy to open, however the bathroom was up to scratch. No hot food at all so walked to the Morris Man for dinner. Bus stop outside to get to Chester which was a plus. This could be a nice place with a little TLC.

Lovely staff, nice village near Chester. Great pub and breakfast hit the spot. The manager and staff really helpful and friendly. Bus stop just over the road too. Car park spaces were plentiful. Also another 2 pubs, coffee shop, shop in village. The main asset for the hotel is the people who run it. Very good.

Nice clean hotel . Good room with comfy bed and amazing shower. Friendly staff that made you feel at home . They do homemade pizzas in the evening which were delicious. Great location for chester and Liverpool and all quiet village of kelsall.

A few of us stayed here when racing at Oulton Park. Really can't fault the hotel. The car park was decent size and we could park with a trailer without issue, the rooms were great and the bar and restaurant served decent food that was well priced. All the staff were friendly and helpful. We will be back for sure.

We have just returned from a 2night stay, we had a travelzoo offer and upgraded to the Superior room which was just lovely, very spacious with a big bay window overlooking the front. The manager and staff were all friendly and had a lovely chat to one of the cleaners as we were checking out of our room. We had a look in another couple of bedrooms which were also really nice. The 2course evening meal and breakfast was delicious, all cooked freshly. Thankyou to the manager and the team for a wonderful stay - Marie & Richard

Very nice room, lovely food, pleasant staff! What's there not to like? Several 'moaning minnies' on here winged about the slowness of service. Well, as the food is cooked to order, don't expect it to be served in 5 mins! Just get a bottle of wine, relax and enjoy your partners company. Life's too short for petty recriminations. The breakfast was locally produced fare and was lovely and served very promptly by the chaps running the place.

We booked the Royal Oak as a last minute night away to watch a concert at Delamere Forest and what a fantastic little stay! Firstly we were greeted by the most friendly and helpful staff that organised our transport to and from the concert, the room was particularly lovely, very comfortable bed and very clean, bright and attractive. We had a lovely late lunch in the restaurant, vegan friendly and a drink sat outside in the lovely outdoor seating area. Breakfast also was perfect, again I was able to have a vegan option, flowing coffee and a really friendly, attentive manager looking after us. We would highly recommend this beautiful place to anyone, thanks for making our stay so enjoyable!

Amazing visit from start to finish rooms lovely and clean , beds very comfortable very friendly and polite staff nothing to much trouble , the food was amazing totally enjoyable stay from start to finish and will look forward to returning again
