The property is all on one level with easy, level access to and from the car park. The views from the south-facing conservatory, over the shared cottage garden and Eden water to the Cheviot Hills are wonderful and you have access to the surrounding fields and riverside from your cottage door. In the hills, there are plenty of tracks and the Glentress Forest provides extensive cycle tracks which are separate from the walking paths (mountain bikes can be hired at the main entrance to the forest). Horse riding is a very popular past time in the Scottish Borders, as is fishing and golf, with numerous courses within easy reach of Burnbrae. There is a riding stables next door. The Scottish Borders also has a wealth of culture and history and many beautiful gardens and historic properties to visit.
