Was only there for one night stay, the person at the front dest was nice and friendly. My room key didn’t work so they transferred me to another room. The breakfast was pretty good too. And there’s a shuttle to and from the airport every 15minutes. One night stay was more than enough for me

Great Location and Convenient Shuttle Service I recently stayed at the Southern Sun O.R. Tambo International Airport Hotel and found it to be very convenient. The location is ideal, being so close to the airport, which made catching my flight stress-free. They offer a complimentary shuttle bus service every 15 minutes from the airport’s Bus Terminal to the hotel, which was incredibly convenient. The room itself was acceptable, the bed was particularly comfortable, making for a restful night’s sleep. Overall, a good option for travelers looking for comfort and ease near the airport.

Minutes away from OR Tambo Airport. Convenient free shuttle service to get to hotel/airport runs every 15 minutes. Friendly staff. Decent room. No complaints.

Best service ever received, the food was great and clean facilities, the bar was my favorite

I was quite disappointed. The hotel is very old fashioned. The room didn’t have a mini fridge. The bathroom was old. We had a bathtub with a shower head. The hotel is supposed to be convenient for travelers. Having a fridge should be a necessity as some people could be traveling with perishables. On the plus side, the staff is extremely helpful and friendly.

Well, it was adequate, the location is convenient to some extend. Unfortunately, the facilities are aged, and there are some things that "time", simply erased, splendor, elegance, and stylish, perhaps fifteen to twenty years ago. However, this is 2025, and the competition is fierce, at the risk of exaggerating, I simply can not believe that this hotel is worth the price. The cost to value ratio, is simply not acceptable. I'm sure that this was the "place to be", many years ago, but unfortunately, it's not the case now. Perhaps, if the facilities could be renovated, it could return to it's initial state, whitout, it's simply just way past it's sellby date. On a more positive note, the service receiving from all the staff, was excellent, and on standard. Breakfast, was on international standard, and excellent, to say the least. And as mentioned, the location is prime, and the complementary shuttle, is an excellent "value added" service. This hotel, remains a landmark in S.A. it's my sincere hope, that they would renovate the facilities and conduct routine maintenance.

Amazing if you have an early morning flight out. Service is great with friendly staff. Food is good and very nice pool area to relax.

We stayed here the night before our flight. Location is perfect for traveling to the airport. The hotel offered a shuttle bus to the airport as well. Breakfast was superb. The only downside was that there were no electric outlets next to the beds.

Good place, got baby cot for our daughter. Staff is very helpful and the food is very delicious and seasoning on point!!

Near the airport, perfect for overnight stays or early morning departures. Breakfast was great.

The room was dark with only lamp lighting. The staff wasn’t accommodating with anything. No water bottles in room or anything to use. I asked the staff to bring something for to my room. They said no, anything I need l would have to collect myself. Services were the worst.

The room was generally clean, although there were one or two leftovers. Breakfast buffet was good but they charged for water which annoyed me. The airport shuttle took way too long they should have more trips. The hotel didn't make check in very accessible/welcoming and help much with plans to travel around Joburg. But otherwise was good.
