Sibuya Game Reserve and Lodge

Just finished our 2 night stay at Sibuya, could have stayed a lot longer. Amazing break from start to finish, beautiful place,fantastic food and lodge. We were very lucky to have Bryan as our Ranger who gave us an education throughout our time with his extensive knowledge of Animals, birds and the environment we were in and also a big shout to the rest of the team who made it a truly memorable experience for us. We passed a few game reserves on our way to Sibuya, but count ourselves extremely lucky to have booked here. This was truly a trip of a lifetime as we seen so much wildlife and game that we could never see at home….once again thanks to all who made our stay truly memorable

We cannot say enough about this reserve. We stayed in Bush Lodge and had the most amazing experience. Our ranger Caylem was amazing and went out of his way to show us and tell us about everything. The lodge was beautiful with a private swimming pool and the staff could not do more for us. Our coordinator Tyler took such good care of us. If you only go on one safari in your life, this is the one to do.

The friendliness of the staff, the accomodation and the experience of the lodge itself was great - helpful and client orientated. The guide that did the game- drives for our specific group was not up to standard with regard to safety of guests, knowledge of the animals (told a really rubbish story about lions for example that has absolutely no basis in facts), was just chasing the big five, and mostly ignored other fauna, had little respect for flora whilst driving. When he did explain something that was more than an irrelevant little anecdote he generally gave very vague explanations to European clients that didn't understand. Thank goodness because his explanation of getting true south using the southern cross was wrong and actually indicating north. His stories tried to entertain rather than inform people about the beautiful and majestic African bush. Was really disappointing

I thoroughly recommend Sibuya! My husband, two kids and I had a fabulous stay in River camp - the accommodation is beautiful and very well thought out - all the little touches have been considered and provided, and the nature viewing was great. The river cruise to get to camp was a really fun start to the adventure, and the drives in the reserve were great, with a truly excellent guide - so knowledgeable and interesting, but also really fun and relaxed. Meals were really enjoyable and everyone eating together made it feel very fun and homely. My kids are already asking when we can go back!

Very disappointed in this lodge. Booked last minute as needed to attend a funeral, nowhere on the ******* site did it mention that the only way to get to the lodge was via boat and latest at 15h30, we were landing from the UK after this. We also needed to be able to get to and from the lodge early saturday back and forth to assist in preparing for the funeral and to attenn the funeral and this would not be possible if we have to get a boat. ******* are happy to refund if the lodge agress but they have taken our money and refuse to refund. Even on the Sibuya website it not firstly clear that you need to get boat transfers either - not transparent at all.

I travelled to Sibuya solo and participated in their volunteer program and I can fully recommend it to everyone who is interested in learning about nature and animals, in having open discussion around various topics and broadening the horizon. Sibuya has a variety of wildlife in their game reserve and every day of the volunteer program was completely different. My personal highlight was definitely the Elephant monitoring and learning more about those amazing animals. I stayed there for 3 weeks and my friends and family were really impressed by how much I learned during this short period of time (and so am I). I could have definitely stayed for more weeks also due to the very positive atmosphere at the Intaka lodge with other volunteers, students and of course the full team there! I can highly recommend Sibuya to everybody who is interested in a real wildlife experience which is respecting animals and nature!
