The location of Tidung Lagoon is spectaculair, amidst beautiful reefs in a small island lagoon. It must be noted that this may not be your place if you expect everything to be like in a high class hotel. The floorboards are wobbly and maintenance shows the ongoing fight against the elements. However, if you don't mind this then you can have a wonderful time here. Our host provided us with delicious fresh food for breakfast, lunch and dinner. They were flexible to accommodate us to meet our daily schedule. Communication was mostly done through Google Translate, which was perfectly fine. We were asked if we wanted to join them for a beautiful snorkling spot, if we would like to use the kayak and whether we would like to visit a local small museum. Also, they helped us with arranging the ferry and picked us up and dropped us off at the ferry port. We had a very nice time at Tidung Lagoon, especially thanks to the friendly staff!

Do not stay here. A group of friends and I paid for an all inclusive package, including transportation and meals. It was not cheap, and to say we were disappointed would be an understatement. The rooms were filthy and unkempt, including safety hazards such as loose wires and blood stains. The meals were cold and food sparse, but was described as a buffet on their website. The keepers were helpful and kind, and did their best, but that is about the only nice thing I can say about our stay here. It is absolutely not a resort, and more resembles a rundown hostel. Spend your money elsewhere, as homesteads on the island are similar or better quality for a fraction of the price.
