Dorchester House

Perfect location for us. Lovely big clean family room. Nice hot showers with good water pressure. Comfy beds. Perfectly cooked breakfast. First time staying in the lakes for us but the central location is ideal and the family room is plenty big enough for 4.

This was the 3rd time my group of friends have stayed at “The Dorchester” (as we’ve christened it ) & we’ve already booked for 2026! Lorraine & Simon are THE most friendly & accommodating hosts, nothing was too much trouble. The rooms, all immaculately presented, comprise a selection of triple/family, twin/double, & singles, making it very easy to accommodate my group of 12. The breakfasts were delicious with loads of choice. The location is perfect, within a 5 minute walk of the Main Street, yet in a really quiet part of town .

We are a group of 9 male walkers who visit the Lake District annually and have experienced several Guest Houses over many years and it must be said that Dorchester House was an absolute gem of a find....absolutely nothing to complain about and lots to be pleased about from the welcoming owners to the impeccably clean and comfortable bedrooms and the superb breakfasts.....everything was top notch and great value for money !!! If you are planning a trip to Keswick don't waste time pondering just book the Dorchester House and you will not be disappointed.

A beautiful guest house in the perfect location, a two minute walk into the centre of Keswick. Lorraine is a wonderful friendly host and nothing is to much trouble, we stayed two nights in a twin room (room 5) that had extremely comfortable beds, hot shower, and was spotlessly clean as is the whole guest house. Cooked breakfast is served at 8.30 am and is excellent, and there is plenty of fresh fruit, cereals, jams, etc to choose from. We were fishing on Derwent water early on the Saturday and Lorraine very kindly got up early and made us scrambled eggs on toast, and the complimentary homemade cake on our return was a nice touch. We are fishing again later in the year and will definitely book the Dorchester guest house again. Paul & Keith Saddleworth Oldham.

Stayed here for a couple of nights and thoroughly enjoyed it. Ann and Dennis are perfect hosts, calling everyone by their first names which is nice. I had booked single occupancy but still had a double bed. Breakfast was spot on and delivered right on time at 8.30 If you’re reading this after October then Ann and Dennis will no longer be there as they’re retiring. The only real niggle is that it’s on street parking but I managed to find a spot a minute away. Would definitely give it full marks and great value.

Loved staying with Mrs and Mr Banner, such amazing couple as hosts, great breakfast, takes care, always smiling, good nice home like stay. Loved the energy of Mrs Banner even after going through Chemotherapy and treatment ahead of her, such love for life, true example. Thank you for the lovely stay.
