Jules' Undersea Lodge

My husband and I just completed the Aquanaut Specialty Program at Jules Undersea Lodge and can’t recommend it enough. The program entails staying in the underwater habitat for 24 hours and completing three dives (entry to the habitat, exploration, and return to the surface.) Our mission director Camille looked after us throughout, guiding our dives, giving us lots of great information about the history and workings of the underwater habitat, and even delivering (still hot) pizzas in the evening of our stay! The entire experience was magical, from diving the lagoon and seeing the 17th century anchor, to lying in bed while hogfish swam past our porthole, to watching The Abyss five fathoms below the surface. Very few recreational divers will have the opportunity to reach full saturation, so for that reason alone, this was a bucket list item for us. Highly recommended. Thanks to Theresa, Julie, and everyone else at Jules Undersea Lodge for making our experience such a positive one!

What a unique adventure. We had a great time. Everyone there was super friendly and took great care of us. We dove down to the lodge around lunch time and they had lunch waiting for us when we arrived. There were diving classes happening that same day so once we made it to the lodge we stayed because it was too murky to see anything if we ventured out again. Inside there was a kitchen/sitting area with a couch tables and TV. We watched TV all night. The team delivered pizza and salads to us that night by diving them down to us. Two bedrooms were on the opposite side with two bunk beds. Bottom bunk is big enough for 2. They can and helped us get ready to dive out the next morning around 8:00 am. No safety stop necessary. You just can't fly or dive again for 24 hours. It was 70 degrees inside the lodge. Some of the scuba class students swam past our bubble window while we were watching TV so that was cool. There is also a shower down there you can rinse off for the night.
