This was booked for our one week family vacation. We have a two year-old and wanted to take a beach vacation. This hotel had rave of views and the pictures online look amazing. They were also great views the hotel room. However, when we got there the room was Old and the kitchenette was pretty gross. it seems part of the hotel has been renovated, and those are the pictures they use on their site as opposed to using the actual old rooms they still have as well. I wanted a hotel room with a kitchenette so we could cook, but there's no way I would've cooked anything in there. you had to access the bathroom through the bedroom and the vanity was actually in the bedroom so it was impossible to put the baby to sleep early without waking her if you had to go to the bathroom or get ready for bed. Everything just felt a little sticky. The couch in the living room was plastic. Was great, but you couldn't open the window so there was no way to get fresh air. However, there was a man constantly smoking cigarettes under the no smoking sign outside of his room so not sure how fresh the air would be. This place was so uncomfortable. We decided we couldn't stay there and discuss our concerns with ******* who we booked through but the hotel forced us to pay for two nights when we only stayed for one even though the conditions were atrocious. I only give this place two stars because the front desk lady when we got there was very nice and the views are nice.

A cancellation was made in an appropriate timeframe according to policy for a Full refund, but the deposit is being “forfeited” (according to management) regardless of said policy. The manager of the hotel will not return calls or emails.

Folks at Mariner are very easy to work with regarding my reservation and upcoming stay. I know winter stays can be difficult but the staff went above and beyond to accommodate my reservation request. Cant wait to be there this weekend.

Right on the beach. Nice pool area with a child's pool connected to the main. We had some rain and wind for 2 days so the pool temp dropped and was quite cold so we went and wade in the ocean instead of swimming. There is an open grassy area with picnic tables but no bbq but you can bring a small hibachi to use. Our room was small but we didn't use but just to sleep at night. The breakfast was good but they never change up the selection. When it is busy, they run out of the omelets and sausage. They don't do much to keep the area clean and stocked during the breakfast. The person working it also cleans rooms so they do not have a dedicated employee that just does breakfast and the one there seems annoyed that they are there. I was impressed overall by this hotel. The rooms were newly remodeled and very clean. We had new linens on the bed and new towels in the bath. I would definitely recommend staying here if you are on a budget. Great location. The concerns I previously spoke of are minor and should not stop you from staying here. There is no elevator. I have included some outside shots and a beautiful sunrise I took our last morning on the beach right at the hotel.

Check on staff was very friendly. The location of the hotel was perfect. The beach was steps away. We kept hearing sounds at night that sounded like fun shots. Maybe it was something else but it scared us. As I mentioned before the staff was not keeping up with the items for breakfast and I had to go to them and ask for hot items.

I absolutely loved it. From the beachfront location to all of the staff. It was sure a great time and we will be back with family. It was very clean and breakfast was great. The people here are amazing and very helpful with any and all needs. We had such a blast. Can't wait to come back

I come to the Outer Banks yearly, and have stayed here 3 or 4 times because it’s right on the beach in a great location. I’m not hard to please as long as the place is clean, but this time our room was pretty gross (Room 208). The bathroom was old, moldy and we found a roach one morning. Upon checkin, manager claimed it was the “best room” they had, but it was in desperate need of an update. The positives were that it was very spacious with a full kitchen, seating area with table and couch, and 2 separate bedrooms. And I believe it was the only suite with a balcony facing the ocean, which I didn’t expect and was very nice! There is free breakfast included with the stay, and it was better than I remembered in years past…. They had a small fridge with breakfast sandwiches, egg wraps, and waffles that you could microwave. Cold items included cereals, yogurt, fruits, bagels, muffins, danishes, cream cheese, jellies, butter. Drinks were Apple/orange juice, milks, water, coffee, and tea. But the downsides outweighed the positives for me this time. Aside from the dinginess and roach friend, the TV didn’t work 1/2 the time, the phones in the room didn’t work at all (you had to walk over to the office to talk to someone), and the wifi was spotty. I don’t get good cell reception there (Metro by T-Mobile), so it was pretty annoying. There was also no room service at all. We had to go to the desk and ask for fresh towels and toilet paper, coffee, etc. No one came to get the old towels, empty out trash etc. The outside water shower to hose off your feet after coming back from the beach stopped working on our 2nd day, so we had to use a hose that was in the pool area. The pool itself looked too dirty to swim in. The key cards to the room kept deactivating so we had to get them reprogrammed at the desk several times. I did book this because of being on the beach and having 3 queen beds in 2 separate rooms, but next time I will likely stay somewhere else.

I was sold an oceanfront room but I had no door to the ocean, only a window. If I had been on the second floor I would have at least had a balcony overlooking the ocean that I could have sat on but on the first floor I only had a window to look out of and most of the view was restricted because of a sand dune. I feel that was false advertisement on the hotels part.
