We stayed here for 3 nights. Check in was smooth and quick. We had 2 rooms, one which was Accessible and another regular one. Accessible room was number 6, which was a 2 min walk from the center, had a slightly bigger room, table and bathroom. For the regular room, we got one of the ones in the back, 83, which had a perfect view of Kilimanjaro every morning. However, the room was on the edge of the property, which is like a 5-7 min walk from the main areas. That said, the grounds are beautiful with a ton of monkeys, dipti (?) and mongoose that run around the park. The pool area was large and partly shaded in the afternoon so it was a good place to relax. We got rooms with 2 queen beds which included a table space, 2 chairs inside and another 2 outside, and the bathroom was a good size. The shower…. We should've mentioned earlier, but the first 2 nights we had practically no hot water and no water pressure. On the 3rd day we decided to bring it up to staff, and they were able to fix it immediately, no water pressure problems. Beds were comfortable. The wait staff at the restaurant was so good. Special shout out to Amos for welcoming us to dinner every night, and recommending our favorite drink, Bitter Lemon. We ended up ordering it every night. Food overall was pretty good. For breakfast they had an omelette and egg station. For lunch and dinner a pasta or carving station. Also they had a fresh salad bar. Lunch and dinner they always had 2 meats plus a fish dish. This hotel is about a 30 to 45 min drive from the park gate. A good point for this hotel is that they also have a buffet inside the park so you didn’t have to go back to the lodge to get a hot lunch. Food at the outpost in the park was also buffet. For our trip, we had one lunch at the outpost and the 2 lunches at the hotel. We also got boxed breakfast for one of the days because our driver recommended seeing the sunrise. Box breakfast had yogurt, banana, bread pasty, a drink and even bacon…. More food than i would normally eat even in a sit down breakfast. Overall, I would recommend this lodge for a stay at Amboseli NP
