Staff were helpful and lovely , food was good , service was excellent, rooms need to be upgraded , stains on the wall , carpet ripped, toilet was very lose , every time you used it you felted like the tank was going to fall , nasty stains in the toliet bowl , tv on the wall was very small , the picture next to it was bigger,bedding and towels were clean

Very disappointing stay, the hotel needs a complete revamp everything is very old. To get to the rooms you need to do a marathon and that is hard with luggage. Generally the place doesnt feel clean and has a horrible stale smell in bar and hotel. Staff were helpful . Not good value

The food is by far the best I’ve ever had. And the prices are amazing, we will certainly become regulars now. The large mixed grill was HUGE and the puddings especially the chocolate trio bar was the best pudding I’ve ever had. Brill service too!

We have just come back from a 3 nights stay and had a wonderful stay. We stayed in room 7 a double room which was very comfy, plenty of room to get around and very warm. We did wonder about what the noise was going to be like but herd nothing at all. The food is fab and good value for money, the staff we met were very friendly expecially Pete on the breakfast today Monday before we left. The building is very quirky and can understand that if you had difficulty moving about it would be a problem. But we are booking again in November Carol & Kelvin Smith (Stafford)

Visited again this evening. Great service, great food and great value in a lovely environment. Well done to all staff who are very pleasant and attentive. I cannot recommend Old Grey Mare highly enough for their food , sizzling steaks are superb.

Came for food and we both really enjoyed it. I had the steak sizzler and the steak was perfectly cooked and my partner had the chick n mix and enjoyed the meal. Our server he was chatty, approachable and really cheerful highly recommend this place!

Stayed overnight after seeing a show at Hull Bonus Arena. Staff very helpful and friendly , room very clean and comfortable. Food menu had so many choices and options, super value at 2 meals for £12-49. You could spend more depending on how hungry you are.? Our breakfast option .....super value at £9 -25 The only downside is the extremely clean and comfortable room is ready refurbishment , which is due to take place later. Overall an overnight stay for £46 for two, exceptional value. Staff very helpful and friendly, nothing too much trouble .
