The setting cannot be topped. Nestled in a rainforest...an impenetrable rainforest at that, this lodge has spectacular views and grounds. The rooms were nice. The service was friendly and thoughtful. The lodge/dining hall could be improved with better lighting, and the food was...fine. We stayed at another property later from same company (Eagle's Nest at Lake Mburo), which we enjoyed more. But this is a super good place to stay if you are in the area for Gorillas, which we were.

I recently stated here with my friends and had an exceptional experience. Our arrival, was greeted with snacks and fresh juice by the staff. The staff went above and beyond to ensure that our stay was comfortable and enjoyable. The professionalism and friendliness truly stood out.

Spent 3 wonderful nights at this lodge. Rough roads to get there but that was fine--we had a great driver/guide. Simple but clean semi-detached cabin with balcony overlooking the forest. We were fortunate to see a forest elephant from balcony one time! Bed was beautifully decorated with towel formations and flowers (several times). Location was a short drive to the Bwindi National Park gorilla trekking. The meal selection and food was very good. Beautiful view from lodge. The staff were marvelous--the manager, waiter, housekeeper, landscapers, etc! Well recommended!

Our room was very cute, comfortable & serene! The food was fabulous and the hotel staff went out of their way to make us comfortable, welcomed and were very responsive! We would definitely stay here again!

At the end of a bumpy, dusty track, this lovely lodge appears, right next to the forest of Bwindi Inpenetrable National Park. It provided the base for my son & me for 2 nights on a Gorilla-watching tour. The views are stunning, we enjoyed uninterupted vistas from both from our room and the resturant and bar area. The room was fine with mosqueto nets over the beds and decent heat and flow in the shower. The staff were friendly and helpful and we enjoyed the food, especially the pea soup. Packed lunches were supplied to take Gorilla treking which started only a short drive away. There were plenty of birds around the lodge including Brown-capped Weaver and nesting Bocage's Bushshrike. A perfect base for visiting this national park!

We spent 2 nights at Gorilla Valley Lodge, such mixed feelings about this place ! The location is Magnificent, beautiful views of the Bwindi Forest and its close to Rushaga where the Gorilla trekking start point is, the lodge has lovely gardens where you can see loads of special birds, but the lodge is really tired and needs a lot of work, the room we got smelt musty and the trapdoor to the roof was missing so at night we got a strong smell of bats coming into the room, the manager moved us to another room the next day, the bathroom is messy with the shower water going all over the bathroom floor and its just a weird setup ! The food was basic but tasty and the staff were Friendly enough.

Pros.. Staff are friendly, close to the Gorilla tracking park, food was great. Cons.. The rooms need to upgraded ASAP. I was there in December and booked through a tour agency, it was not comparable to the other places I stayed which were top notch. The rooms were damp and very cold. I had to sleep in pants and jacket along with the bedding they provided. The bathrooms are tiny, the shower is basically on top of the sink and toilet (visible in other guest pics). The drain for the shower water was on the opposite end of the floor slant so I ended up with a giant puddle in my bathroom. I ended up checking out and changing hotels in the area.

Es un lugar increible con unas vistas preciosas sobre el Bosque Impenetrable de Bwindi. El alojamiento es muy comodo y bonito, comimos muy bien el el restaurante, nos recibieron con unos bailes tipicos . Lo mejor una familia de "Gorilas" nos visito en el Lodge el dia anterios de hacer el trekking.

Eenvoudige kamers. Prima restaurant en zeer vriendelijk personeel. Wel erg veel en steile trappen. Wij hadden eerst een kamer toegewezen gekregen onderaan alles. Toen we aangaven dat het wel erg veel trappen waren, kregen we prompt een kamer toegewezen dichterbij het restaurant. Wifi is beschikbaar in het restaurant.
