The Old Bank Town House

Most disgusting hotel I have ever been to. No refurbishment the last 20 years(?), lots of pigeons and other things outside the room, terrible condition, 343 euro for this room is fraud. Terrible disgusting place. To call this four stars is ridiculous, it should have been closed.

Jude was incredibly welcoming and so helpful when we arrived. We really appreciated her kindness with sorting out car parking. Great hotel, very clean, fabulous service. Delicious breakfast with a great choice, fresh ingredients , beautifully cooked. Recommend.

Gorgeous spacious room, beautiful decor and spotlessly clean. The staff went above and beyond to help when we needed it! Ideal location, in the heart of the town. I'll 100% stay again on my next visit to beautiful Kinsale. Definitely recommend

We looked forward to our stay in this centrally located historic hotel based on the lively pictures. In fairness, historic does mean OLD, so one can’t expect even floors , wide hallways, tabletop height outlets. Our welcome from Jude was very nice, including an upgrade to a larger room. However, both nights we had noisy sewer work- trucks, lights, machine noise- right below our window from 9 pm until 2 a! Hard to do that during the day, we assumed, or the traffic would be backed up to Cork! But still, a warning ahead of time or offer to switch rooms would have been nice. The makeup mirror in bathroom didn’t work, and the room was not made up while we were there, in spite of putting a sign in the door requesting housekeeping service. Some of the furnishings were tired and need an update. The website pictures look fresher than reality. Breakfast was delicious with multiple home cooked selections and wonderful croissants, although you had to reserve the time you wanted to eat. Note there are stairs going into hotel then a small lift for getting luggage to room. The hotel now seems to be owned or managed by the Blue Haven Hotel down the street. Next time I think I would choose a smaller, family owned B and B.

We had a lovely lunch. The specialty of the day, black pudding toasted sandwich was delicious. The chunky chips as a side were just perfect. Coffee was ok, but there is room for improvement. Friendly service and pleasant surroundings. Nice spot.

Located right bang smack in the centre of it all. 47 steps to the bus stop into Cork. We stay here quite a lot because of the following. Our room is spacious tastefully decorated with views over the harbour. The food is deliciously fantastic especially, the breakfast and lunch. You will be spoiled by Maria. What a lovely lady. Nothing is a problem for her. She is totally dedicated to making sure you enjoy your stay. In actual fact, she’s the reason we revisit so much. She makes it like “home from home “ every time. Here you will be greeted by a really lovely supervisor Jude. Jude will insure all aspects of your stay are as you require. Both Maria and Jude are always in sink and work really well together. The food produced here is addictive and it’s clear the chefs enjoy what they do. Although you’ll be spoiled for food choice in Kinsale, The Blue Haven ( sister hotel 87steps up the road ) is a perfect choice for top notch evening dining and relax afterwards in the lounge bar listening to live music 7 nights a week. The staff here are excellent too especially Agatha. She stands out with her attention to detail and her efficiency. All in all this is Home From Home. We’ve booked our return stays for 26 and as usual, can’t wait.
