Victoria Hotel Klaipėda

We stayed for 2 nights. On one of these there was a private event, that we could not locate, maybe in the sky bar. On this event tjey mafe made such un incredible loud music and - even worse - such an incredibly heavy bass disturbing heart beat that even the glasses where dancing on the table. The event was already started, when we returned to the hotel at about 7 p.m. You could feel the music and the glasses were dancing on the table !!! At 23:30 I made a complaint via telephone, but I was told, since this is a provate event, there is nothing, that can be done about it. And peopla rea allowed to do so until 2 o'clock p.m !!! The noise was to be heard all over in the rooms, in the 2nd floor as well as in the 4th. It was impossible to sleep. After a long discussion with the lady on the phone, some 10 minutes later the noise of the music was a little bit reduced, but went on until 2 o'clock.

Very good, new hotel in the center of the city. Beautiful hall with windows in the ceiling. On the 1st floor there is a restaurant, on the top floor there is a terrace cocktail bar Zebra. There is a spa center and a swimming pool. The rooms are all different. They have a gym, conference halls.

Despite having only a few days In Lithuania we rushed our journey to this hotel to make use of the swimming pool and sip cocktails on the rooftop bar. We are keen birdwatchers and love to see and listen to swifts. On arrival we were astounded to learn it would cost us each €26 per day for a swim so total $104 for two days. We were told the roof top bar wouldn’t be open on either of the nights we were staying. Our tiny, rabbit-hutch twin room looked out onto a grimy alleyway full of recycling bins. Within feet of and dead opposite our window a semi-naked man smoked a cigarette. The beds were 2’ 6’ & every time we turned over we activated the nightlight. I knocked my head on the wall-mounted TV when I squeezed by to the bathroom. There wasn’t even room for a wardrobe. The next day we spoke to the manager. Her attitude was dismissive, hostile and what we’d have expected in 1980s Lithuania. She made it very clear they wouldn’t consider opening the bar as there weren’t enough customers to make it worth their while. We had booked this holiday through a tour operator and when we complained they paid for an upgrade for our 2nd night which included use of the pool. Actually it’s so tiny (less than half the usual size) that maybe they charge to stop it being overcrowded? On the plus side the breakfast buffet is excellent. I wish I’d read the other reviews before agreeing to stay here and I’d beware those reviewers who haven’t posted before. If I owned this hotel I’d hire a manager who is customer-focused and charming, not one who belongs on the other side of the border.

I was booking this room believing it was a pet friendly hotel. I agreed to pay the cost listed knowing there might be a pet fee and that it is, most of the time reasonable to expect. To my surprise, it was 25 euros per night. All in all, that would add 25% to my final bill and 100 euro extra for my stay. When I asked if this was negotiable they flat out refused. Now, I'm all aware of pet fees and find them reasonable to a degree. But this, an expensive hotel, adding 25% to a cost for a hotel room? And per night? Most hotels these days does not even clean their rooms every day. I want to warn other pet travellers that this is not a pet friendly stay. In the communication with the hotel I also wish to add they spelled my name wrong. As a high end hotel, I find it baffling that the basic courtesy in a high end hospitality business is not present.

High ceiling large room that felt insufficiently furnished. Television did not carry any English language channels and not channels such as BBC or Al Jazeera or CNN. The buffet breakfast, included in the tariff, was a huge spread that should please a very wide range of palate, that was served in an airy atrium - very stylish. Glass elevators take guests up and down in the atrium. Five minutes walk to old town. I was a walk-in - no reservation in hand - and paid more than what I felt the place could command but that is not the hotel’s problem. Modern hotel that felt new.

Really disappointing hotel, faux fancy design but the reality is a cheaply made, plastic furniture budget place but with the quality price tag. The breakfast was good, good selection of hot and cold options. They do however try to squeeze their guest with ridiculous and short sighted charges everywhere. They charge extra for juice at breakfast which was fine at first but then started to notice more of these silly additional charges. They Charge £23 for the pool, first hotel anywhere world wide I have experienced an additional charge for the pool. They give you a kettle but charge £3 for teabags. The room itself had a comfy bed but cheap synthetic sheets, the bathroom look good from far, but was actually fully tiled in cheap plastic faux marble tiles. Everything you flush the toilet a pump would turn on and shake the room. The shower was again cheap plastic faux stainless steel and was not levelled correctly so water would flow out into the bathroom. Nó facilities for laundry either, instead there is a weird horrible little room with 6 ironing boards, no windows and is so hot you might faint. The building it’s self is really nice, full of potential but sadly the filled this grand beautiful space with cheap nasty plastic tables, tacky decor and service style that feels like it’s designed to catch you out for extra cash rather than make you want to return. Hopefully this new hotel sees their foolishness and makes some customer thinking decisions that protect its future earnings with return clientele rather than just thinking about how to squeeze every immediate penny. Would not return.
