D.R. Lanta Bay Resort

Det är förmodligen åttonde gången vi bor på hotellet. Jag gillar verkligen läget - stranden och två pooler, ett urval av rum från familjebungalower till tvåvåningsbyggnader med rum. Perfekt för en lugn semester, mer lämplig för äldre människor kommer att tycka att det är lite tråkigt. Service och städning är på hög nivå. Ägaren bor alltid på hotellet, vid eventuella olägenheter kan du göra en förfrågan. Det enda man bör tänka på är att säsongen slutar på Koh Lanta i slutet av april - början av maj och fram till september kommer vädret inte att främja avkoppling.

Just started our last day here on DR Lanta. Been staying here for 6 nights. Our 4th stay in Koh Lanta and first stay on DR Lanta. We’re staying in a family bungalow. Right next to one of two swimming pools. The location of our room is perfect(Room F2). There is a pool further back on this property but there is no shade from neither vegetation of umbrellas there. So usually plenty of sun chairs available there. This brings me why we will probably not return to DR Lanta again. It’s now 6 am in the morning. This is how early you’ll need to get up if you want to have a sun chair. At 6.30-6.45 they are all gone. Except for those at the pool further back with no shade. I would strongly suggest that the hotel made some sort of policy with these sunbeds. Either have a sufficient number of beds, or have staff simply remove towels put on beds before a certain time in the morning. If they are not in use of course. This is the high season, but I still think the hotel should be equipped accordingly. Aside from that, there really isn’t much negative to say about this hotel. The hotel is literally on the beach. From pool to beach there’s 20 meter. Nice beach. Kids friendly and seas are calm. Our room has a double bed and two beds for the kids in a separate room. No doors between the rooms. AC is not too noise, and able to keep the room cooled. In the kids room there is a fan to help the cool air circulate. No AC in the bathroom. There are two small windows with mesh on either side of the bathroom which did enough to keep it reasonable being out there😀. Staff is very service minded. Haven’t had any issues at all. So, if you don’t mind getting early up in the morning to get a subbed, don’t hesitate to try this hotel. Ask for a room close to the beach. Enjoy

Nice place. Coming from the great family-friendly Southern Lanta Resort just 250 m further down the beach, we thought this wasn’t going to be as good, and though we prefer S Lanta over this, we enjoyed it. Did play a bit too loud music late at night (one night horrible swedish such) but it was okay, and maybe that showed that this place has a bit different clientele than S Lanta; not as many families with smaller kids. Also, there were quite a lot of smoking ****, both around the pool and by the beach, giving a non-family-vibe. Friendly staff. Very hard beds. For families with smaller kids I’d recommend something else such as Southern Lanta Resort.

The location it’s perfect in Koh Lanta , stuff very nice but it’s a very outdated hotel. The beach chairs are dirty, the towels very old and ripped. Breakfast ok but not wow. The windows at some of the bungalows don’t have a full glass. Are build like blinds from glass. You can hear everything from outside, every move and the neighbors coughing. We didn’t pay attention when we booked. First time happened to us. The plates and forks not the cleanest. And some contractions noise during the day bc they are remodeling some villas.

I booked 3 bungalows. The best thing is our bungalows located right in front my swimming pool and beach. The room is big and clean. The mattress is comfortable. Unfortunately, the switch for lamp is not located at same place, so it a little bit confusing where to find. Staffs really helpful. She help me to book island hopping for my family, which is cheaper than the one I have. She also suggest places to visit and restaurants. Breakfast is sufficient but limited. They provide breads, fruits, rice and cereal. Our family satisfied with them. The resort has two pools. One located in middle and another one besides the beach. Both are great, we tried both of them. They also provide parking space if you driving to Koh Lanta.
