The accommodation is quite convenient to get to, and the rooms are very spacious — ideal for family stays. There's a large swimming pool, and the breakfast is delicious with plenty of options to choose from.

We totally enjoyed Mali Sunrise Beach. Excellent service. Great location. Really good for families but also suited for couples. Loved it.

The staff will pick you up from the pier and it's free. Upon arrival they will tell you the rules. Room is big and spacious, the only thing not good is the water pipe is leakage. The floor is quite oily and I almost fall down for few times. Other than that hotel facility is good, got a welcome drink upon arrival. Free snorkelling glass and kayak. Breakfast is good too . Forgot what's the name of the staff at the breakfast bar, but the curly hair boy did a great job serving the breakfast.

I want to make it clear that I’ve stayed at countless hotels and very rarely leave negative reviews. However, this hotel undeniably has serious issues. The facilities are old and worn out, and despite cleaning, the rooms still feel unclean. The shower handles are rusty, and the showerhead emits a bad odor when the water is turned on—all signs of deep-set grime that hasn’t been properly addressed. But more importantly, it’s the attitude and service mindset of the hotel staff that truly determine the overall rating, and in this case, they were deeply disappointing. I understand that being on an island means having to deal with mosquitoes and less-than-ideal conditions. But what truly ruined our stay was the behavior of the staff. 1) At breakfast, the servers misunderstood our orders but instead of apologizing, they became defensive and even aggressive with us. They gave nasty looks, insisted we ordered items we clearly didn’t, and ignored guests entering with a polite “good morning,” instead remaining glued to their phones. Only when we showed visible displeasure did their behavior suddenly shift. 2) Our boat was scheduled for 3 PM, but since checkout was at 11 AM, we asked the front desk if we could change to the 1 PM boat. The front desk woman, who spoke fluent English, told us it was possible and sent us to the pier. However, upon arrival, we were told we had to buy new tickets and that it was a completely different boat—something that wasn’t explained at all while we were still at the hotel. When we said we wanted to go back to the hotel, the middleman (who either genuinely couldn’t speak English or was pretending not to) simply said that the front desk woman recommended we stay at the pier, and that he had to go back to receive new guests and couldn’t assist us any further. 3) At exactly 11 AM, a staff member suddenly appeared outside our room, gesturing for us to leave and pretending to help with our luggage. But after taking just one bag, he disappeared and never came back. When we dragged the rest of our luggage to the lobby ourselves, we found him idly scrolling on his phone. The entire staff only pretends to be working, lacks any genuine sense of service, and only becomes courteous when tipped. This experience has left me with a negative impression of Thai hospitality, and I have no desire to ever return to this hotel again.

I loved the location of the hotel and found the staff to be very helpful. Our arrival by boat was canceled due to bad weather, but when I called the hotel, they kindly agreed to let us extend our stay. The pool is large, and our room was perfectly situated right in front of it and near to the beach. The bathroom was spacious, and the mattress ensured a great night's sleep. The kids were thrilled, and overall, we truly enjoyed our stay. We will definitely return to Mali Resort Sunrise Beach Koh Lipe.

This is my second time stayed at Mali Resort. I am a bit disappointed this time. - Not sure what was happening the tapping water is very yellowish. We dare not to use it to wash our face or gargle. - Most of the staff are very nice & friendly. Only one of them is very rude. When we are trying to ask the reason why we can’t use the kayak during evening time, she was replied us in very rude way.

I had a good 2-night stay at this hotel. The service was excellent, and the room and amenities were very clean and well-maintained. The facilities were also top-notch. The breakfast spread was impressive, with a wide variety of choices, and being a buffet, you could enjoy as much as you liked. The location is convenient, as it’s near the beach. While the beach itself is decent, the water isn't as clear as you might find at a sunset beach, but it's still a nice spot for sunbathing and swimming. There are also many boats parked nearby, and activities like kayaking are available. Additionally, it's close to walking streets and food places, making it easy to explore the area. Overall, a satisfying stay with plenty to do nearby.

The concept is pretty nice, but the bungalows are quite outdated — we stayed at 3 different hotels (2 on the sunrise beach, 1 at the north pole) and all the hotels are a bit oudsted inside. The girls at the reception were great, helped us with everything we asked for. The territory is not that big, compared to other resorts. But very green and a nice layout. The biggest disappointment was the a/c — it was old and very noisy, even at the minimum fan level, and obviously couldn’t cool the room down. In April and May a/c is the first thing that must work properly cause it’s extremely hooooot. The bathroom at the balinese villa is huge, but there is not air circulation, so after you take a shower be ready for a weird smell — not from pipes, but from the humid space with no ventilation. One more thing we didn’t like was that there was no shower or faucets in the beach area — so when you’re done with your beach activities and head back to the room you won’t find any water to help you get rid of the sand. We had to use the pool for that reason. The breakfast is pretty simple, it’s not a buffet, but you can choose different options from the menu. Very basic taking into account the price you pay for the villa — for the same price you will get an amazing buffet at the Idyllic concept next door with plenty of options, including noodle station, roti station, ice cream, etc. For 1 night it was okay, but I’d hardly choose it for a longer stay.

Excellent hotel, the room is so great and the toilet is just too big. Overall a great place to stay, we enjoyed maximum.

Is all fine except when we arrived the island is flooding..and is pity that the swimming pool also flooded and can't use

Koh Lipe can get very crowded and busy with tourists. The location of the Mali Sunrise is perfect -- close walking distance to the restaurants and bars, but a lovely, quiet beach front that gets you away from the crowds. The owner was great and the food is delicious. We would stay again.
