We spent a night at Hisa Posebne Sorte during a 10-day cycling tour, and it stands out among all the places we stayed. Its relative isolation is no drawback; on the contrary, the family-run Hisa is a self-contained holiday experience. Luka entertained us with a wine-tasting session that included comments on the economy of the district, and we dined royally on a magnificent 4-course meal.

Our stay in Hisa Posebne Sorte was part of a cycling trip. We received the warmest of welcomes from the owners. We had a pre-dinner wine tasting, enjoying the delicious local wines and learning all about the area, its wines and Slovenian culture. Dinner was exceptional. Our rooms were spacious and comfortable with great showers (really important when you've been cycling all day) Our bikes were stored safely overnight and we ate a delicious breakfast before setting off on our way, I'm gluten free, and Ms Sorta went out of her way to make sure I was well catered for. It was also my birthday and Ms Sorta, who is a well know folk musician in Slovenia, kindly gifted me a CD of Slovenia folk music recorded by her and her group. We could not have felt more welcome and were very well looked after during our stay

I rarely do reviews, so listen up. The wonderful hospitality we enjoyed at this off the beaten path, boutique hotel/ winery in the hills was the highlight of our weeklong cycling tour of Slovenia. Luka, the proprietor, was incredibly friendly, knowledgeable, and service-oriented. The room was spacious and very comfortably appointed. The wine tasting and meal were delicious. We came a long way from Austin, Texas to stay here…and will likely return. Worth the trip, and not to be missed.

We stayed here last night on a Helia cycling tour. We were the only two guests and had a wonderful lunch, wine tasting and excellent 4 course supper with wine all at a reasonable price. A family run business with a focus on only local ingredients . Owners were excellent. Highly recommended.

This is a lovely, comfortable, welcoming hotel in a charming little village in the countryside. You will be warmly welcomed, fed very well and enjoy a beautiful garden, vineyard, green hills and cute cows. Ask for a wine tasting in the beautiful cellar. It is the best wine and it is grown right there next to the house! The hosts are gracious and kind and the rooms are very nice.

What a fabulous place, we were walking across Slovenia and this was a hotel selected by our vendor On Foot Holidays. We happen to be the only ones there that night and they treated us so well. It is beautifully situated with lovely views. We did a wine tasting with Luka and had dinner in their cave restaurant (it was a surprise) under the hotel cooked by the Chef, Luka's dad. Definitely a family business run with love. Hospitality is the name of the game!! We got it in spades!

Fabulous! Great hospitality and friendly hosts. The wine tasting and food were worth staying there. Right in the middle of wine region. Rooms and apartments, cater to cyclists too. Beautiful location and all locally sourced food and wines.

We stayed here for 1 night as part of a cycling trip in Slovenia but would happily have stayed longer. The room was clean and comfortable and the shower good. The husband and wife team who run it are very friendly, interesting and helpful. We ate a delicious 4 course meal, prepared with local produce and wines for a very reasonable price. Would thoroughly recommend this place.

Truly very friendly reception. Nice and very clean rooms. About 5km from Stanjel. The food is excellent. Freshly made 3 course menu. Excellent wines from the neighbourhood. Beautiful view over the valley. Een absolute aanrader. De top.!!
