Nature Hill

I'm writing this review a year after our 5 day family stay (2 adults, 3 children), partly due my laziness, but largely remembering the felt need to do so giving the lasting positive experience. This was an August visit, considered to be out of season. Nonetheless, we encountered excellent weather, with rain only in the later evening (and one awful morning on departure, detailed below). You'll find detailed throughout TripAdvisor that the island is beautiful and the accommodation is within a 5-10min walk from a picturesque beach. Most days we had the beach to ourselves. Tours to sites of interest can be booked in the village or through Nature Hill. Tours can be slightly more economical via the former option, but i would always arrange transport through the latter. Nature Hill places you back with nature. It's rustic accommodation, which is very well maintained, with hot water readily available, and free fresh drinking water. Mosquitoes were around,not to the extent it was problematic. We shared a unit which fitted all five comfortably, with an outside area, and fans internally for cooling, albeit not required. The mattresses are of a good standard and linen clean. As it was out of season, many eateries on the island are not open. We did try others but the food cooked at Nature Hill was far superior, with good options for plant based. The family and staff will do their uppermost to ensure your stay is pleasant. It was this immense show of consideration which prompts this review. We had to get to Koh Tao following our departure from Koh Muk, bringing various logistical challenges, and this is where Nature Hill's loving approach shone through. They arranged seamless transport, from leaving the accommodation at 4am, the boat waiting at the port to take us to mainland (still in pitch black darkness) the vehicle to take us to the next port, land transfer, and the ferry to Koh Tao. Everything went smoothly in an admirable fashion. At 4am when we left the accommodation the owner and his wife were there in the torrential rain to see us off, holding umbrellas, and to ensure the taxi was operating promptly; a loving approach to customers.

Very authentic, natural experience only a few minutes walk away from the beach. The hosts Su and Neil are very welcoming and do everything for a comfortable stay. Definitely for anyone who wants to experience nature with the stay in the huts. So nice to take a shower and have the breeze of the fan. The balcony invites to relax with a drink and calming look on to the trees. Must try on Koh Mook.

This is the best bungalow I have slept in my traveling around Thailand in the last 4 years. Neil and Sue are super friendly, super reliable and always happy to help and support you. They are definitely fantastic and they are an additional value to the fantastic accommodation that they run. Bungalows are gorgeous and cozy, with so many beautiful details in a shabby chic style. Neil built all the bungalows from zero and with a special touch that creates a unique atmosphere. Breakfast is also very good, hand made and fresh. Highly suggested stay in koh mook

Very friendly, family run, truly international, independent place to stay. We felt most welcome, always the will of our hosts to help us work out a plan to improve our holiday. The accommodation is stylish, comfortable, clean and reasonably priced, just minutes from one of the islands most beautiful beaches. Water refill at reception is the perfect solution to reducing plastic waste (feel free to collect rubbish when you see it, that inspires others). We hope to return one day, a really genuinely lovely place. Merci to our hosts!

Super Bungalows mitten im Jungle mit ruhiger und gemütlicher Lage. Die Besitzer sind sehr gastfreundlich. Das Essen wird frisch gemacht und schmeckt sehr gut. An was man sich gewöhnen muss sind die bellenden Hunde bei Nacht. Ansonsten sehr zum empfehlen.

Wir waren zum ersten Mal auf Koh Mok. Und haben 2 Nächte im Nature Hill gebucht. Zuerst einmal, was völliger Quatsch ist und in vorigen Bewertungen geschrieben wurde, dass die Müll Situation völlig normal ist für thailändische Verhältnisse. Wir haben bereits 5 Inseln in der Andamanen Küste bereist und keine der Insel hat nur ansatzweise solche Probleme. Dies sollte aber nicht in die Hotelbewertung mit einfließen. Bei unserer Anreise war der Check in nicht besetzt (16 Uhr). Lediglich ein kleiner Junge der dann seine Mutter anrief und uns das Telefon in die Hand gedrückt hat. Am Telefon wurde uns gesagt wir sollen doch einfach schon mal in die Hütte alles andere machen wir später. In der Hütte angekommen, fanden wir eine eigentlich ganz schön gemachte Hütte vor. Genügend Platz und eigentlich ganz schön eingerichtet. Jedoch war diese ja nur halb geschlossen und durch jeden Spalt konnten sich Tiere und Insekten ihren Weg in die Hütte suchen. Was aber dann das wirkliche Problem ist, dass das Moskitonetz zahlreiche Löcher hatte und so keinerlei Schutz bot. Auch war die Bettwäsche mit Flecken. Braune Flecken und ein Kopfkissen war halb zerrissen. Als ich um einen Wechsel bat, wurden nur die Kopfkissen halbherzig ausgetauscht und die fleckige Bettwäsche nur neu aufgeschlagen. Das Badezimmer war ebenso nur halbherzig gereinigt am Fenster war angetrockneter Kot, welcher da wohl schon länger war. Die Nächtliche Lautstärke war nicht zu überbieten, jedoch alles Geräusche aus der Natur. Auf dem Gelände haben sich sehr viele Leute aufgehalten, welche weder dort gearbeitet hatten noch Gäste waren. Was den fehlenden Tresor und den Hütten umso ärgerlicher machte. Allgemein war die Lage unübersichtlich und man fühlte sich nicht wirklich herzlich willkommen. Was positiv zu erwähnen ist, als wir nach der ersten Nacht bereits abreisen wollten, lernten wir erstmalig die sehr nette Dame vom Telefon kennen. Sie war so kulant und erlies uns die Kosten der 2 Nacht.
