Yes. Worst hotel ever.” Why?”you ask? Let me count the ways… But I will start with the pros: *Location is great. It’s right on a quieter part of Chaweng Beach *The King bed, although actually two twin beds pushed together, was surprisingly comfy. *Relatively cheap. Ummmm. That’s it. Really. Cons: The rooms are disgusting. Not just poorly maintained, if at all, but NOT CLEAN. I actually went to the store and got cleaning products and cleaned the room. *When begrudging ‘cleaning’ the room they will throw the sheets on the floor and remake the bed with those same sheets. *Look at the photos. I don’t think they have ever bought new sheets. They patch and patch them over and over. *The bed was so bad that when my friend crashed, she insisted on sleeping on a towel after We pulled down the sheets. *They will only give you 2 towels and are stingy on the toilet paper. * The air conditioner made a clickity clackity sound that they could never fix. *The hose to the toilet leaked so badly that I needed to use my two towels and they were completely soaked. To their defense after the third failed fix and 5 days, they got a new hose. And it eventually stopped leaking. * They never cleaned soap scum off of shower walls or glass, never cleaned a mirror, Hardly cleaned the sink. *They never fixed the loose toilet seat, nor thoroughly cleaned it for that matter! *Look at the photo- what is that white stuff on the blue wall? Wait. No. I don’t want to know. *There were blood stains on the wall by the bed. *They obviously have never heard of WD-40 because you could throw your back out trying to open the sliding glass doors. *The shower backed up and instead of using a snake, 3 chamber maids tried using a stick (or broom handle) to push the clog . The smell from the backed up water was so bad that I left the room. They DID eventually fix the shower and even bought a new shower head. Shocker! *Holes in the screens and sliding doors that had gaps = being eaten alive by. ***Nasty nasty people who own the place as well as the people who work there at the front desk or pretend to clean the rooms. One day I made the mistake of offering some suggestions nicely to the owner about what a shame it was that they were not maintaining the property given its stellar location and he yelled at me to “go stay somewhere else!!”. From that point forward he would just yell at me at any opportunity be it 6AM or 6 PM. So much for making suggestions for improvement. Why did I continue to stay here on and off ? I was in Samui for 6 weeks, my friend had prepaid for a few months, It was the High season, there were practically no rooms available anywhere and yes, it was RELATIVELY cheap. (About 1000 BHT) When I was able to get a room at the next hotel over, I would leave my friend at Marine and get my own, clean room at OP (1,300-1,800 BHT) Please GO to OP BUNGALOW, right next door for a big step up Super sweet owner, nicer rooms, great food.
