Cielo Boutique Hotel & Spa Samui

A true gem of a hotel in Koh Samui. Immaculate in all aspects. Gorgeous room (Rm1). Very helpful and friendly staff. Great location, short beach walk from Fisherman’s village. Stunning pool and seating area! Complimentary coconut on arrival was a lovely touch!

Love love love this hotel. A little pocket of tranquility on a rather busy island. The rooms are beautiful, the staff are beyond wonderful. The pool is a perfect spot to never have to move from. The beach is right there. And the restaurant is rather sublime.

Many aspects good, especially the amazing staff, but some areas of concern. Main concern being an apparent very lacadasical approach to dietary needs. Having given 6 weeks notice of the need for gluten free food, no one seemed to understand what gluten was and what needed to be avoided. The owner asked if could eat rice. Every day we reminded staff, but still bread with gluten was given to my husband every day. Each meal we asked if items were gluten free, but staff didn’t seem to know and had a group discussion. When we mentioned soy sauce no one seemed to realise that had to be avoided. This really needs to be taken seriously. The only place in our travels around Thailand where this was the case, plus no gluten free alternative to bread offered. Very high on design but not sure on the quality. Sea view villa could just see the sea through buildings and vegetation. Comfy beds and good shower, but water from taps smelt unpleasant and this stopped me from filling the bath. Plenty of bottled water offered to drink. Upstairs good mix of fan and aircon. Downstairs no air con, a toilet with no washbasin and tea making facilities but no bin. Stone steps - open side and no rail. Other food in restraunt good and breakfasts excellent. Yoga and Pilates offered - mainly good instruction but yoga studio needs A/c - it’s a room with a v large window along one side which gets hot in the sun. Running fans helps but they are rather noisy. Most of the time heat ok but had to leave one class as too hot. Owner appeared to have a large party of personal friends she was looking after the week we were there - one evening we had to wait 50 minutes for our food as most of staff was attending that group and chef was chatting with members of the party. Food otherwise mainly good and good service. 15 minute walk to fisherman’s village. Would not want to walk back from there on my own and especially long shared unlit drive to oseveral other properties. Also small safe in room but not attached to anything so could just walk away with it. The owner was very defensive when mentioned something adverse. I hope she will listen to these comments - our other reviews hotels on our trip all 5 star.

Hotel is actually made up of a number of individual bungalows,we stayed with our adult daughter who had her own bungalow on the opposite side of small court yard which had a private plunge pool. all bedrooms had air on and ceiling fans, were very spacious and had lots of storage and hanging space. All the food was excellent and service was impeccable, there were 4 main options for breakfast and a long list of extras to add. Monday night Thai 6 course set menu was amongst best food we had during 30 days in Thiland. There are lots of other cheaper food option a short walk from the hotel and fisherman’s village is 15 minutes walk away(it would easy to get taxi back as there are taxi points at the end fisherman’s village. Great service around the pool and on the beach from Mathew who seamed to appear by magic when you need to adjust the umbrellas or loungers. He was also helpful when using free to use paddle board and canoe. kat and Goody were on had at reception to give advice and book tours or activities like free yoga and Pilates.There was live music almost everyday and amazing fire show on Saturday night.

A tranquil gem of a hotel! We stayed in the 3 bedroom family villa Lucas and absolutely LOVED it! It’s more like an open-air mini complex than a hotel room, with an open air (covered) kitchen diner, private pool in the middle & 3 bedrooms each with their own bathroom & brilliant air con & fans. The hotel staff were extremely friendly & very accommodating- when we booked a day trip with an early start, they arranged for a breakfast box to be delivered the evening before and they arranged a private island tour for us. The restaurant is fantastic- breakfast, lunch & dinner all top quality. You can walk into Fisherman’s village easily- either along the beach or road in about 10-15 mins. Look out for happy hour at the bar- they have some great offers on!

My Partner Hayley and I stayed at Cielo in July of 2024, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The food and drinks were of the highest quality, the rooms were beautiful, and the hotel facilities and amenities were fantastic. The location was great also, close to the airport and local activities such as the Fisherman's Market while still having a quiet stretch of coastline off the main road was fantastic. Above all, the service here was fantastic with the staff extremely welcoming and engaging. Special shout-out to Mark who kept our happy hour Margarita's coming by the pool each day. Can't wait to return!
