Rapopo Plantation Resort

Amazing slice of paradise. Love the pool and food. There's also snorking on the private beach and a good mix of local and western food. Staff are friendly and it's just so beautiful. Try catching a sunset overlooking the sea with the mountains in the background.

The beach is quiet and usually calm. Clear waters thriving with marine life. The lobster mornay was the best I had. The staffs very friendly and accomodating. We love the quiet and peace that we had at Rapopo. Rapopo is a hidden gem. We enjoyed our stay.

I had the most amazing experience at this hotel and can't recommend it enough! From the moment we arrived, the staff went above and beyond to make us feel welcome and comfortable. Their warmth and professionalism truly made our stay exceptional. One of the absolute highlights was the dolphin viewing experience arranged by the hotel. Watching these beautiful creatures playfully swim just off the coast was magical—it’s something I’ll never forget. The hotel staff even provided great tips on the best times to go for the most sightings! The seafood here was out of this world. Every meal felt like a fine dining experience, with fresh, flavorful dishes that showcased the best local catches. The grilled snapper and seafood pasta were especially memorable—absolutely delicious! The combination of natural beauty, gourmet food, and outstanding service made this one of the best hotel stays I've ever had. If you're looking for a relaxing getaway with unique wildlife experiences and incredible hospitality, this is the place to be!

I stayed at Rapopo Plantation Resort and it was honestly such a great experience. The food was definitely the highlight, every meal was super tasty and felt like it was made with care. My room was clean, comfy, and really relaxing. The staff were also very nice and helpful all throughout my stay. I was also happy and proud to see a Filipino working there, super friendly and made me feel at home. Overall, it was a really chill and memorable trip!!!

Recently stayed for the Anzac Day services. The staff are absolutely amazing taking great care to personalise the service in every way. From management to housekeeping to restaurant staff, everyone was happy and willing to help at a moment's notice. Only a short walk from the beach and you are snorkelling over the reef with the fish. Will definitely be staying there again

It takes a bit to get there from the main island, but once you touch down, it's a 25 min ride from the airport. You will be welcomed in traditional style by staff. the resort does not look much like a traditional plantation, but rooms a large and have this great view of the pool, bay and volcano. food is good and plenty. massage service is also fine. internet is horrible, hang around the restaurant area to get any kind of decent connection. As most other places in PNG, Rapopo is much overpriced, but that is just the way it is. At the time of my visit, the on-site dive shop did not have a dive master, but the manager Leo quickly got a dive master from another shop, Martin, who was very knowledgeable and took me for two dives one near pigeon island and the other one in the bay. Good sized sharks (which he somehow called) and lovely corals. Visibility out of this world. Also, do not miss the dolphin snorkel, great technique, gets you right in with the pod (80+ animals). Beautiful animals and images.
