The Leela Ashtamudi, A Raviz Hotel

We stayed at this hotel as a large group from Scotland for a family wedding. What a fantastic hotel we could not have chosen a better place to stay. Everything was wonderful. Amazing staff who could not do enough for us. They helped in everything from arranging taxis, excursions, boat trips etc. The rooms are large and comfortable with various options to choose from, room service is excellent. The breakfast is vast and varied as is the evening buffet where the choice is immense. All the food is exceptional and beautifully presented. I cannot praise the staff at this hotel enough every single one of them was courteous, friendly and exceptionally attentive to our every need and the management must be so proud of their professionalism. It is highly unlikely that we will return to this hotel in the future but I’m sure we will never forget this lovely place and cannot recommend it enough to anyone looking to book it, just go you won’t regret it. Leela Ashtamudi - The Raviz, it’s a Wonderful property calm and serene. Great location - backwater facing. Courteous staff. Pleasant weather. A hybrid version of both heritage and modern hospitality. Decent food. What more to ask for during travel.

The service was excellent, and the rooms were clean. The food was good, and the chef prepared dishes per our request, even if they weren't on the menu. All the staff members were very kind and considerate. The facilities were good, with complimentary high tea and boat rides. On the last day, they let our three kids eat for free at the buffet. View in from the hotel was excellent. My only suggestion would be to improve the basketball court and add more activities.

My recent stay at Raviz Hotel was far from satisfactory due to several issues with the bathroom facilities. Firstly, the toilet and the shower cubicle door had gaps that prevented them from closing properly, which compromised privacy and comfort. The cleanliness of the WC was also subpar, as it was not properly cleaned upon my arrival. Additionally, the shower lacked essential amenities. There were no hooks to hang a towel, making it inconvenient to access one after showering. Furthermore, there was no soap dispenser at the vanity counter, forcing me to take the soap from the shower cubicle each time I needed it. This setup was highly inconvenient and not up to the standards expected from a 5-star hotel. Overall, the experience was quite disappointing, and these issues significantly detracted from the comfort of my stay. I hope the management addresses these problems to improve the guest experience in the future.

It was a wonderful experiance. One day out at Leela Ravis is apt for family. Kids enjoyed a lot especially at pool, boating through ashtamudi lake etc.. Moreover, climate was good during our visit. Hospitality was quite good ***** with traditional ambience of Kerala.

We had booked two rooms at Leela Ashtamudi for October 30 th to Nov 1st.since we had kids traveling so we enquired at the front desk and the provided toll free number reg amenities specifically the pool and then completed our reservation.we recived a mail one week after reservation that the pool is closed for maintenance till November 2nd...disappointed that the management could not accommodate the amenities that were part of inclusion during reservation.On contacting the front desk nobody could even feel sorry for what we are going through and they were so self centred and lax to not even speak back politely or provide an alternative..would never even think to have a stay at Leela Ashtamudi.

Didnt provided the room they agreed to. The receptionist were not at all receptional nor had any hospitality. The Breakfast Buffet was not a five star rated one. However, I would like to appreciate Alvin the guy who helped in getting onboarded to the room on our arrival. Wouldn't recommend highly for the price we pay

We had a wonderful time at the property and truly enjoyed our stay. - The property is remarkably spacious and beautifully designed. The lobby was grand and inviting, offering a stunning view of the backwaters. - The room was spacious with a charming décor and featured a beautiful backwater view. - The infinity swimming pool was gorgeous with a lovely backdrop of the backwaters - The house boat ride was quite serene and refreshing However there were some unexpected drawbacks and room for improvement : - The check-in process was unsatisfactory. Upon entering the lobby, we received no greeting or assistance, and even at the reception desk, the staff seemed occupied. I had to grab their attention and inform them about my reservation. Furthermore, we weren’t offered a welcome drink nor guided to our room after the check-in formalities. - Room: The bath tub was stained, and the hand towel hook came off multiple times. The shower's water flow stopped unexpectedly several times which was annoying, the toilet flush needed repair, and the balcony door was challenging to close. - Restaurant: The restaurant (Keraleeyam) was cramped and ordinary which was not expected from a property of this scale. The air conditioning was not functioning well, leaving us uncomfortable during our meals. Additionally, the restaurant was understaffed, and despite informing the team, food was not replenished as needed. The buffet spread could have been better. - Loud music was being played at the pool side venue even at 10:30PM due to an ongoing event. When we brought this to the attention of the reception staff, we were told that the management has let out the space for the event till 11PM, indicating that the noise would continue till then. Further due to the event, the poolside area was crowded from 6PM onwards by the staff preparing the venue affecting our privacy at the pool. - In the area where high tea was served, there were not enough chairs and no tables, making it challenging to fully enjoy the tea and snacks. - We noticed a coconut fall from the tree directly onto the pathway next to the lake, posing a potential danger to anyone walking beneath it.

We had the most amazing time in Raviz on our visit to Kollam.The room was large and clean and we had a room with a view of the spectacular Ashtamudi Lake. What made the experience even more special was that our son who has multiple food allergies were catered for so expertly by the Restaurant team. Bijil Raj , Restaurant manager was very thorough in taking the particulars of our son’s allergies and relaying this information to his team. We felt reassured as soon as we talked with Bijil that our son’s food was in expert hands . Head Chef Arun Nair cooked some incredible dishes for my son taking into account all of the allergens .Baliappa part of the restaurant team catered so well to my husband and my dishes . Our whole family were so well looked after by Bijil, Arun and Baliappa. We also want to mention the reception staff including Christo and his team who welcomed us so warmly and took care of all queries. My son still talks about the care , kindness and consideration he was shown whilst on our vacation. We look forward to our next stay.
