Giannoulis - Grand Bay Beach Resort (Exclusive Adults Only)

First let me say that the staff are Great. Very helpful and attentive. First amongst equals has to be Kostas at the Bar, and his deputy Matteo . Unless you get up at the crack of dawn- very unlikely to get a sunbed by the pool. Plenty on the beach but they are rock hard. Sea - nice but take water shoes for the pebbles. All inclusive- unless you are Ultra with the gold card then NO BRANDED drinks for you. If you get room 232 - which has great views and good long balcony, be prepared to be woken each morning at 6:50 ish by the sound of the kitchen door hinges - and this will continue until 10 ish. I did ask for them to oil the hinges - but nothing stopped the creaky hinges The food was fine, plenty of choice.

Firstly let me start by saying that ALL staff were friendly, helpful, polite and worked hard. So big thanks to you all. The location of the resort was quiet, which is what we wanted and small with no children. The overall resort was in need of repair in places but tidy. Our particular room had a problem with the shower head not being behind a screen and daily showering left pool if water all over floor whichever had to use all towels to mop up, I reported this and was offered a choice of 2 other rooms of same standard but they were smaller so we refused and continued with towels in floor. We also Heard from others that our room wasn't the only one with the same problem. The safe was €20 for week and was set on floor if wardrobe, many older People had trouble getting down on knees to use, so didn't bother. All inclusive is not really what they offered, if you wanted brand drinks and other treats you had to pay €40 each per day for inclusive+. If you wanted to use a la carte you had free meal but had to spend minimum of €15 pp on drinks. Crete night on Mondays you had to pay €25pp to join. The all inclusive meals were hit and miss and often not hot, dessert was very minimal and always the same. Being in Greece you'd expect Greek food, however we we're told that customers didn't like that ( then don't go to Greece). I have to admit breakfast was best meal of the day. The non branded drinks were not very nice. The beach was pebbles not sand so take beach shoes. People out before 07:00am putting out towels. Private Pools outside your room had green fungus around rims. Overall not quite 4 star in my opinion and seemed to want to charge you more monies when you arrive. I wouldn't recommend this hotel, luckily the weather was amazing.

Superb hotel. Staff could not have been any more caring that everything was perfect for us. Zoe is an absolute gem. We loved our holiday. Super clean rooms, good food and location second to none. Loved waking to the sound of the sea. Outside areas all great for food and drinks. I would highly recommend this hotel. An early breakfast was organised for us for our big Samaria Gorge trip getting the day off to a good start. Nearby there is a monastery and behind that some mosaic meditation paths which are worth wandering round. Fabulous views and an amazing bench on which to relax.

We stayed here in early May,arrived late at night Paul on reception was very helpful, we had a room with pool outside very nice ,the food was ok not brilliant lukewarm the staff was lovely would not go back.I would not say that's a 4 star more like 3

We went in early May to this hotel, it is are third stay. We think it's lovely the staff are friendly always willing to help. The rooms are clean and well mainted, there is a big pool with swim up bar and smaller quite, private pools for ground floor residents. It will situated if you fancy exploring the area, it is an adult hotel only and we are in our sixties, the only down side is the rooms might need in the future renovating but they serve a purpose.

Fantastic hotel just for adults so relaxing and peaceful, staff very very helpful , lovely spot a few shops but easier to get out and about on local bus which hotel staff will help with and local tours. No problem with sun bed availability and food good choice.
