Akti Beach Club

Mixed bag really - very positive is the staff who are lovely and try to help as much as they can. We stayed in the all inclusive plus adult side. Nice restaurant and no kids. Rooms were adequate and air con works. The sun lounges need some work / they are old and also could do with a clean (brown stains on a lot of them) Pool is quite cold , but it is the start of the season. The beach - forget it , it is sand (rough) and single and you need to climb over very slippery rocks to enter the sea. My only real annoyance (and that of other guests) is the rip off 50 euro charge if you want to extend your check out. We did encounter an issue with the ‘international drinks’. We had to insist on ‘Gordon’s Gin’ as they always wanted to pour the local stuff. But we only saw Baileys and Gordon’s - everything else was local. We enjoyed our week, but for us it’s one and done.

This resort claims to be 5 stars, but in Italy it wouldn’t even reach 3. We had a terrible week, unfortunately spending far more than this place is worth. The rooms are poorly assembled, with new but broken furniture and bathroom fixtures, and no cleaning service whatsoever. The dishes in the restaurant were always filthy, and the staff was nowhere to be found—negligent and unhelpful. On the first evening, after dropping off our luggage in the room, there wasn’t even a meal available for late arrivals like us. When we returned to our room, we couldn’t open the door because the electronic key card didn’t work. Only one staff member knew about the issue, but of course, hadn’t informed anyone. Instead of looking for the emergency keys, they tried to force us to sleep in another room without our luggage. The keys "magically" appeared only after they found out I needed medication for a chronic illness. We lost the whole evening. On the last day, since our flight was in the evening, we hoped to enjoy the beach, but no rooms were provided upon request, nor was a shower offered. When the Alpitour representative—who we had already contacted to file a complaint—saw us at the bar tired and bored, along with all the other guests waiting for the same flight, they sarcastically told us that we had "enjoyed the day anyway." I won’t go into more of the week’s incidents—I could write a book. Never again at this place, and never again with Alpitour.

- Firstly a very special shout out and thank you to Elton and Rosita in the restaurant or always looking after us, they both work very hard and go above and beyond to make sure guests are happy and tables are kept clean and tidy, they are an absolute credit to the hotel. - Location - Akti Beach Club was only about 20 minutes away from the airport via coach transfer. - Grounds - beautifully maintained gardens. Hotel reception and staff - plenty of space in here tho not very well air conditioned and we occasionally noticed a strange fishy smell. We found the reception staff helpful but not particularly friendly. - Our room - we stayed in a suite with direct access to a shared pool which was absolutely lovely and we also had our own sunloungers and parasols which were definitely a bonus. The ladders into the pool were in a poor state of repair for a few days tho these did get fixed. The furnishings were modern with plenty of storage space for clothes etc. The room was cleaned and sheets changed daily. The bathroom was adequate but could do with being updated as we noticed some stains and signs of wear around the sink area and the shower head didn't fit in the bracket above so we had to use the shower head manually which wasn't a major issue but would be better of the fitting worked properly. - Food and drink - all meals were buffet style, always plenty of choice tho some food was often not very warm. We loved the Chinese section each night and the freshly made pizzas were amazing. Cocktails at the bar were disappointing, we tried them twice but as they are ready made we didnt think they were nice at all so we stuck with the branded stuff. Plenty of choice of soft drinks and juices and also beer and wine. - Beach - lovely tho there are a few pebbles in the entrance to the sea so recommend suitable beach footwear. - entertainment - we didn't bother with this but there is an entertainments program both day and night. There is a dedicated animation pool where they have music playing and games. - free shuttle bus into Kardamena was good, worth a trip, only takes 10 minutes each way. Overall we really enjoyed our stay at Akti Beach and will be back sometime in the future.

Just got back from 7 days at Akti Beach. Family of 6. We arrived late and were able to use the restaurant still. We were given a free upgrade to a swim up room. Which was amazing. The room is basic, but fine we weren’t in it much. The only downside of the room is that we had an ant problem! We reported it and they seemed to disappear for a couple of days but then it returned. Pool towels available at the reception that you can swap when needed. Was given some wine and water in the fridge but these never got replenished so guessing it was a welcome thing. Maids came everyday, changed the towels made beds etc. Food is good, a nice variety for adults and kids. We ate out 2 nights locally in Kardamena. We didn’t have a problem getting sunbeds around 9am everyday. The animation pool is loud! But if you like that sort of thing it’s fine. The team work super hard and get everyone involved. However the water in that pool will turn your swimwear green/yellow!! Not sure why but it’s a bit murky in there. The other pool…. Doesn’t have the same issue! Beach…. Free sunbeds, definitely recommend water shoes. The stones into the sea are slippy but once you get over them it’s clear and sandy. Shop onsite very handy. The bus the hotel supply into the town is good but some people have zero manners and just push to the front, people don’t seem to understand a Que. a booking system would be better. taxi seems a better option and is only €10 The gym isn’t the best, tired and old equipment, a few free weights. If you’re over 16 you can use adult only section, me and my eldest went over for a swim and it was very peaceful. It’s definitely not a 5* hotel, but it’s still a nice hotel and we would return. We are just back from an 11 night stay at this fab hotel. From the minute we arrived at midnight we were made to feel welcome by Marios at reception and George in the restaurant. Our room was lovely, big & clean. Only one negative - not enough drawers for all the clothes we brought!! Room was cleaned daily with fresh towels. Sheets were changed couple of times during our stay. The buffet restaurant had plenty of choice and was always delicious. There are 3 speciality restaurants available, but can't comment as we didnt bother booking. The pool was lovely and big. We didn't have a problem getting sunbeds, but we are early birds so down there from 8am. However, didn't see anyone struggling to get a sunbed throughout the day. We didn't go to the beach, but it looked very nice with lots of sunbeds. The pool bar was great and you could get snacks there all day. That's also were the entertainment was at night. A great selection of singers and a music quiz one night. The lagouna bar, just beside the buffet restaurant, was lovely to sit after dinner to chill. The staff, without exception, were all fabulous. They were so friendly and nothing was too much trouble. The receptionists, all the Georges, Stefanos aka Big Narcos, Big Chris, Natella, Mzai, Natalia. Stella & Omar to name but a few. It was also really lovely to see senior managers visible and helping out and talking to their teams. We also used the spa, having massages, pure bliss. We thoroughly enjoyed our holiday here. Would we go back? Yes, we're already looking! Is it 5 star probably not quite, but would we have had a better holiday if it was, I don't think so

Family of 4 here. We booked in the adult’s area for 8 nights and had a fantastic time:) We stayed in double room and had no complaints with either. The beds are lovely, great showers and lots of regularly changed towels. The adult’s area is absolutely brilliant but we also used the rest of the resort, the beach always had plenty of sunbeds. We walked along the beach road into the village, Kardemaina, stopping at a lovely taverna along the way and also going for a swim, we also used the shuttle bus which ran regularly. The food was some of the best we have had at an all-inclusive, we also booked the fish restaurant, “mermaid”. The entertainment in the adults area was generally pretty good and we found most of the staff very friendly and helpful. Hope to return some day, loved it.
