Gaia Royal

We finished a 10 day stay in Gaia Royal, and this is our honest review. PROS Pool is lovely Ice cream was delicious! With sauces and nuts to put on top at dinner. But would regularly run out from the bar near the pool. The beach was beautiful. The grounds are nice and well kept. Mini zoo was a delight, especially the deers! Food was nice, some dishes were better than others naturally. But it became a bit repetitive. Staff who performed kids' entertainment and aqua gym/aqua dance gave a lot of their energy and did well. Housekeeping staff are nice as well as a very nice man who cleared our tables. The reception team was nice apart from one woman. Beds are comfortable CONS The receptionist woman who checked us in seemed to not want to be there at all and didn't even smile once at us and was very unapproachable. We did not feel comfortable asking her any questions. We comically nicknamed her "happy" who only seemed to smile when she was with one of the barman who she appeared to be dating. Never have we experienced this before and was extremely disappointing as a first impression! Especially after travelling! Upon arrival, there was a god-awful smell outside our room and even a bit of a smell in our bathroom. Which was extremely off-putting. The terrible smell outside our room seemed to change to other outside areas in the hotel as you were walking but didn't stay outside our room. But the bathroom did seem to keep a little bit of a smell. We were all-inclusive, but cocktails were not included. Very disappointing. Drinks at lunch were flat and tasteless, but the soft drinks at the bar were okay. The shower just had a flimsy shower curtain, so water goes everywhere. One young barman didn't smile once and had an attitude. Clearly, he didn't want to be there. No bottles of water were given out, but there was a refill machine. Never experienced this before. No aircon where you eat, so you're sweating the entire time and are uncomfortable while eating. In 10 days, there were 3 nights of entertainment. The rest was bingo and quizzes, maybe once a bit of live music at the bar. Very disappointing especially at the peak of summer holidays. But the kids' entertainment was great. We were ravaged by mosquitos, but that's not the hotels fault but make sure you have plenty of spray as we were bitten over 50 times throughout our stay. Also, take an antihistamine. Shop on site is very expensive it costs 25 euros for a small bottle of suncream make sure you bring more than you need.

Great hotel, and great holiday. The hotel is very isolated, but theres plenty to do on resort, its like a small village. All the staff were very friendly and happy to help. The food was varied and good. Although quite busy depending on the time you eat. The all inclusive drinks could be better, but it's what you would expect on an all inclusive. The entertainment team were brilliant and worked very hard. The room was clean and decent size, everything you'd want or need for a week. Only down side, and it's not related to the hotel, are the taxis on the island. The hotel would arrange for a taxi to pick you up, no problem. The problem is trying to get one to return to the hotel. There just doesn't seem to be enough to serve the tourism. We had to wait for over an hour a few times. If I were to return, I would hire a car. Overall, great holiday at a well equipped hotel which was clean and friendly. Would certainly recommend.

Delicious food, great animation and entertainers (we love Lukas and Barbara!), interesting evening activities. Beach is beautiful, lovely view of the sunset. Three pools accessible to all, but as usual all the sun beds by the main pool are taken.

The food was good. The whole place is kept clean and tidy the rooms are basic but the cleaners do a brilliant job also. It's a bit of a remote location but there's a bus to Kos town and there's also plenty of trips you can book. Went as a family for 11 days and thoroughly enjoyed it. The cocktails at the beach bar in the evening were excellent.

Friendly staff very easy to takj too, delicious food, and clean facilities. great for families! Only thing would be nice if there was more of a wide range for entertainment they worked hard but there wasn't much too do in the evenings expect the odd beach party's or bingo night. Would be nice if there was something for teenagers specifically as there was a lot there. Overall though we really enjoyed our time doesn't deserve the many bad reviews.

A very nice holliday on Greece Island Kos. Beautuful nature, pools. Good meal and nice Hotel. Great and friendly animation team.
