Gaia Royal recensioner

We stayed at the Gaia Royal between the 13th and 20th October. We understand that it is close to the end of the season but if you are paying for All Inclusive it really should be available until the very end. Drinks unavailable at the bar because they wouldn’t open a new bottle, children’s meal section missing most nights at the buffet. The hotel itself is a little tired, but the room was clean although marketed as a two bedroomed suite it was only really one bedroom and then a bed in the main area. The pool was nice and the beach lovely and we enjoyed unseasonably hot weather so we were lucky. The one star reviews on here are unfounded in my opinion, we didn’t smell anything nasty, the zoo is a nice little addition for children. More of a petting zoo really with goats and guinea pigs, but our Grandson enjoyed it. The food was basic but good, breakfast was the best meal of the day with plenty of choice for everyone. We ate out and hired a car and this did give us the freedom to explore. There are lots of cats, which we loved but some may not.

Just got back from 10 nights stay here would say was far better than we expected the food was amazing with lots of choice they also had a lot of traditional Greek dishes to try which was great to experience. We had a problem with our first room when we arrived as the patio doors on both balconies didn't lock the reception was very helpful and changed our room which was great right by the pool and opposite the main building where everything goes on. This complex is very clean all public areas and rooms are kept to a good standard, clean towels when you want them just remember to leave your towels on floor if want changing as found if you hang up they are not always changed. Drinks we feel should be included on the beach along with cocktails as only use the local brands you can buy branded drinks at a cost of 4 euros we did buy a few cocktails but once you found your drink of choice was fine. Entertainment wasn't great but then we did go away late in the season this didn't spoil our time here as you just ended up meeting lots of other people which was nice. It is a bit remote but the island is not very big and reasonable excursions available if you want to get out and about. Overall we had a good time here and would probably return but upgrade room to guarantee good location on the complex

Hotel is mid - food is terrible u literally have to be German to enjoy it! Frankly there are more Germans here than Greeks! U also have to be German to watch any kind of tv when returning at night it’s terrible considering we have kids to try and entertain. We will not be coming here again!

Staff were great, the buffet food was good and varied. Everywhere was clean. Entertainment very poor. Reported maintenance issues were ignored ( simple things like a plug in a sink not working - reported 5 times). The hotel feels in need of a refurbishment.

What a beautiful place to stay.. I loved every minute of my holiday here and I'd definitely go back. Yes there is a smell I the air but that's most of Greece not just thus hotel. Yes I wouldn't say its a 5star hotel more a 4 star. Food was lovely as there was always something you could eat. Short walk to the beach witch was nice an got very busy at times. An well 2 euros for a beer an 4 euros for a cocktail you just can't moan about. The little zoo is lovely for the kids to. Cats are very well looked after to. I very much enjoyed feeding them myself. Night life for adults could be better but all in all was a great time. Thank you gaia royal hotel would definitely recommend you to others 😊

Read lots of bad reviews regarding this hotel before we came..... Please take no notice ... we are here now and this hotel is amazing..Beautiful beach . Pools are fantastic. always plenty of sunbeds so you haven't got to rush... Rooms are clean and lovely .. we have a family room . 2 bedrooms. and bathroom which is a lovely size plus terrace ... Plenty of room in the dinning room . Food is amazing .. breakfast . lunch and dinner. plus snacks by the pools . All staff are pleasant and friendly always there to help .. the only thing I will say is the drinks .. cocktails you have to pay for and you have to pay for the sun lougers .on the beach ... . but that's it ... Would definitely return to this hotel.. Its beautiful here xx

We enjoyed our stay at the Gaia royal, the room was clean and comfortable and a good size. The hotel is quite isolated, but there is a bus you can take in to kos town. The pools are relaxing and we never had a problem getting a sunbed. The food was excellent, a very good choice at all mealtimes. The staff we met were all very helpful and friendly, the guy’s at the pool bar were great and got to know us and our drink preferences. They worked very hard and always had a smile. Night times were low key, not a lot of entertainment, but the main bar had a few nights, Greek night was good, music quiz and karaoke. The pool bar was a nice setting for a few drinks on a night time., chatting and socialising with other guests. There is stray cats, which didn’t bother us. I must say a massive Thankyou to the security guard who was on duty on the 4/10/24, I don’t know his name, I had a fall and broke my ankle, he assisted us to get a taxi to the hospital, we were in an upstairs room which I had requested, and he physically carried me down 2 flights of stairs to get me in to the taxi. as I couldn’t walk. The staff assisted my husband to get me some takeaway food from the restaurant when I had returned from the hospital.luckily we were travelling home the next day.The staff were very helpful and understanding of our situation. Thankyou Gaia Royal for going above and beyond to support us.

Hi, in my opinion, very average hotel. 5 star. Absolutely no chance. For a start, the food was shocking. Hardly edible. I get this feeling, English people will eat anything. I could not believe how awful the food was. Disgusting. Cheap mass produced rubbish. Then again, Unfortunately as experienced before, Greek culinary is shockingly bad, the one Country who have no idea when it comes to food.

WORST HOTEL EVER!!! I wouldn’t even give it 1 star if I had an option and I don’t even know where to start. The rooms are not the best and if you are getting a duo room you have one bathroom to share. Everytime you are going for food there is a FOUL smell so buy the time it comes to eat you are NOT hungry believe me. The staff at the bar are really rude and do not care to help you one bit. We asked the guy behind the bar what we do for sun lounges as everybody puts towels on them even when they’re not sat there and he said what do we want him to do about it! That all you ever get when you ask them a question. The drinks are absolutely shocking the pump for the pop is absolutely disgusting and watered down all alcoholic drinks are horrible. The only nice staff are the cleaners who never seem to even get a day off. The entertainment when there is some is shocking and there is no entertainment during the day. You can not be comfortable in this hotel I’m not one to complain but this was the worst experience I have ever gone through and would not want nobody to waste their money on this. The food is very repetitive and what you eat for breakfast your 1000% getting for dinner and tea. This hotel is also in the middle of nowhere so your nowhere near anything the town is 40 euros in a taxi there and 40 euros bsck so if you do stay take plenty of money as you will struggle too get around. Absolutely disgusting disrespectful service.

This is the worst hotel Iv ever been to! 99% staff on site are very rude and are not Greek, they are Albanian. Staff do not know answers to basic questions such as what is the entertainment. We soon found out that the entertainment was very basic and we only saw 1 show whilst we was there. The smell around the resort is awful and really off putting Very remote and cost €30 in a taxi each way to get to the town. I wouldn’t recommend anyone to stay here!

It is a budget hotel that exceeds expectations, the accommodation is basic but very clean. Our cleaner in room 245 was polite and very kind. The bathroom was adequate with great water pressure, the taste from the taps was not ideal, would suggest buying bottled water from the onsite shop. Speaking of which, the service is a little surly. The beach is amazing, absolutely beautiful, great value for sunbeds and a real tonic to get you through the winter. The food offer in the restaurant is amazing, great choice and superb quality. Lovely to see the cats are well cared for, an utter treat to see them thrive. There are smells around the resort, particularly around the farm, the is also a sewage smell as you walk further up the resort. But, we had a great time and would recommend as the value for money is exceptional.

The room was cleaned everyday and refreshed towels… staff were friendly and helpful at reception.. food there was a wide range of choice which we could fault lovely and tasty… The downfalls mosquitos are absolutely rife in the evenings and the smell of sewage around the complex especially at night early morning is very off putting especially if you like to sit on a balcony at night… weather this is comming from stagnated water near the hotel and thats why mosquitos are so high i am unsure… commuting the kos town is 20/25 min transfer costing 29 euros for one way which was really disappointing although there is a local bus but only at certain times…. Beautiful beach and lovely beach bar the staff work really hard to keep the beach clean unfortunately we wouldnt return back to the hotel due to the smell

The buildings need updating and then it would be better. Need more meat selection but lots of variable fish if you like that. Soft drinks are not nice. Id come back if the place was modernised for definite. A bit too much walking if you have mobility issues. Smelly farm.

It's family hotel. Not party hotel. Not adult-only. Not disco-around hotel. So you get lovely place to stay with children. No sunbeds reserving, no loud music. Beautiful environment. You get big room in bungalows in a kind of village with marvellous garden, paths for babystrollers. Sandy beach, just at the end of hotel. No street-crossing. You get ants if you leave any piece of food, but you also get everyday cleaning. The whole place is very well organised. Somebody did a great job planning it! Everything is close, but the space is enormous. There are reusable cups in bars! Love the idea! Food you get a big variety, vegetarian and vegan options (soya milk) breakfast the weakest meal, "american": cakes are defrozen and donuts tastes like powder. However there is a lot of fresh products to do oatmeal, prepare salad, variety of cheese and sausages, omlettes. lunch&supper Food generally is very salty, fried potaoes or vegetarian meals sometimes so much it was unpossible to eat it. I know everyone has another taste, but you can always add more salt, you cannot minus it, especially if we talk about meals for kids. However, there is so many products every day I found something amazing. Coffee is okay. Pools Three pools, one for kids, one deeper, just one with music. Water Water in taps has strange taste, it is true. I have never been to hotel where you get bottle water for free every day (and I've been to places...), so you have to deal with it or buy in shop, it's not expensive. Ants come to your place if you leave even small piece of food not hidden in the freezer. The big minus is a smell - animal's smell from the zoom, but close to the beach and restaurant you also sense strange one, specially in the night.
