Sorobon Luxury Beach Resort

We first booked in March 2021 when this was Sorobon Beach Resort but cancelled owing to travel restrictions during COVID-19 pandemic. The resort has changed hands since and has been nicely renovated and improved. It is now the Sorobon Luxury Beach Resort. We had a premium ocean front beach house with amazing views of the bay. The small well-equipped kitchen is ideal for breakfast and lunch. In the evenings we dined at the Reef Bar where the food is delicious. The electric power sockets in the beach house are the European two-pin socket. I had assumed, in error, that the socket would be an American flat pin type. If you are from UK, please bring an adaptor for 2 round pins. We bought groceries at the Van Den Tweel supermarket in Kralendijk. We asked the front desk to arrange a return trip by taxi as we did not rent a car. Lac Bay is a nature reserve, part of the Bonaire marine park. It is also a windsurfing holiday destination, a perfect place to learn as the water is shallow. The southern half of the bay is waist deep, good for windsurfing. The north and west side of the bay are deeper and better for wing foiling. We rented from the Dunkerbeck Pro Center, a water sports centre at the resort. Resort guests are entitled to 20% discount for rentals by the day. Various lessons are available but these are not discounted. Outside the Sorobon Luxury Resort. Next to the resort is Jibe City, a water sports centre. The popular Hangout Beach Bar is located here. Further along is Sebastian’s Beach Cafe. We had a pizza there. Further north, at the deep end of the bay, is Frans Paradise water sports school and hire centre. This is a better place to do wing foiling as the lagoon is deep and not crowded. Overall, we enjoyed our stay at the Sorobon Luxury Beach Resort. The location is ideal for enjoying the nature reserve and water sports. It is busy during the day with windsurfers and cruise ship visitors but at night it is tranquil and very relaxing. We like to mention Maria, our friendly room attendant, for her good service.

We had rented golf carts while in port for the day and ended up at the Sorobon Beach Resort for the day. We rented a cabana for a reasonable price and were able to order drinks. The staff was very attentive. We had access to the Reef Bar and enjoyed a very nice lunch. The beach at the resort was amazing with water that was waist high, crystal clear and is famous for kite surfing, which was prominent there. We walked out very far in the crystal water only waist high. The beach was wonderful with day beds, chairs and cabanas. It was a diamond in the rough as we drove the island of Bonaire and happened upon this paradise. I would absolutely return and stay at this lovely resort.

Paradise! This resort is a true gem, we had such an amazing week during Christmas. We stayed in 2 connected ocean view houses, beautiful designed, clean with very comfy large beds. Welcomed with a bottle of bubbly in the fridge :) We stayed all inclusive, the a la carte meals and drinks were all included and very good. Via a whatsapp system any question we had was swiftly answered. Enough daily coffee cups and toiletries, lounge beds and cabana's on the beach super comfertable with fluffy towels. The ocean is so warm and a perfect place for windsurfing (or learning how to).The team was so sweet and went the extra mile.. A special thanks to Louisa and her parnter manager. We stayed 5 nights in the premium ocean front beach Villa at The Sorobon Luxury Beach Resort in Bonaire to celebrate my daughter’s birthday. The resort is the true standard for all things paradise. Our villa was very spacious and had a stunning view of the ocean. From the time we arrived until we departed, Louisa’s team was extremely pleasant, always available and very accommodating. We enjoyed every moment of our stay. The main standouts for this resort are the priceless scenery, the cleanness, and the service. This trip was definitely an unforgettable experience. I highly recommend The Sorobon Luxury Beach Resort and will certainly return!

Everything about this resort is absolutely stunning.The sea,the water sports,food,drinks and service were all exceptional.Shop selling beautiful beach and summer wear and accessories was well stocked with friendly owner.If in Bonne Aire do not miss out!

Had a great time at the Sorobon resort. The staff was extremely helpful and kind. The rooms are big and clean. Best kingsize bed we had in a long time. The beach is clean and beautiful. And again with amazing sunbeds. We will definitely come back.
