Very disappointed in the attitude at this hotel. Seemed to be nickle-and-diming us. For heaven's sake, charge us a couple more euros for our room instead of punishing guests who want an extra towel for the swimming pool or tap water to drink with dinner. After 14 days of hiking the Juliana Alps Trail, plus a couple of days before in Ljubljana and an extra day in Kobarid, in all of which we enjoyed wonderful hospitality and staff who always seemed so eager to make us feel like welcome guests, this hotel left us feeling let down. It had very large bus and touring groups staying there, so maybe that's the way they feel they have to operate. But although our room was nice, and also spacious, we would not choose this hotel again. The food on the buffet was generally acceptable except for the absolutely inedible and rubbery cold fried eggs. The worst was when we were invited to use the swimming pool. We took showers, donned on swim suits, and cover-ups, and went to the pool. Towels, we were informed, would be 3 euros each. Or we could go back and bring towels from our room. So just because it seemed outrageous, we went back and brought our damp bath towels from the room (just one set for each had been provided). Then when I went to get in the pool, the woman pointed to the sign that said we had to shower first. I said I'd just taken a shower. She insisted I needed to take another there. I have to admit I was not happy, shook my head, and entered the hot tub! Childish, I admit, but here's what I wish all swimming pool guests would do (I didn't think of this until later): decline their 3 euro towels and say sweetly that you'll be fine walking through their hallways dripping wet on your way back to your room. Thanks for letting me vent!

Firstly, the hotel is in a fantastic part of the Kanjska Gora valley. Reception staff were very friendly throughout. The room was quite large with twin beds, complimentary slippers and robes, bathroom with shower, toilet and bidet and toiletries. Plenty of wardrobe and drawer space. Balcony with table and 2 chairs. Having said all that, the hotel needs a bit of TLC. The balcony rail needs renovating, there was a smell as you entered the room, the night security lock on the door was broken. The radiator is behind the floor to ceiling curtain??? Let’s talk about the food. Yes there is plenty of choice including vegetarian and vegan. However, you need to be one of the first in because it is buffet style for both breakfast and dinner. The fried eggs soon get congealed, bacon cool and crispy. I just had cereal and pancakes for breakfast and mainly fish and potatoes for dinner. That was my choice, other reviewers praise the food. On waking up, I usually enjoy a cup of tea but, unfortunately, the room does not have a kettle and associated tea/coffee etc. overall though, and enjoyable stay.

We will come here again next time! Everything was perfect, air conditioning can be missing in summer. Apart from that, we were satisfied with everything. The staff is nice, the breakfast is perfect, the hotel is clean! Using the wellness department is a pleasure!

Very nice large hotel in the heart of the Julian Alps. Hiking and biking in the summer and a large number of ski runs in winter. Rooms are reasonably large and clean. Very extensive breakfast buffet included in room price. A good choice in Kranjska Gorae.

We booked a double room but ended up checking out early after 1 night because we were immensely disappointed with the experience. The receptionist provided us the contact info for the reservations team who we reached out to, but unfortunately they could not offer any refunds for the additional 2 nights we booked. Asides from the aged furnishings and old amenities, we were quite upset with a number of concerns related to hotel’s dirtiness that negatively affected our stay: 1) There was a sewage smell coming from our room’s bathroom toilet and the corners of shower glass were moldy - we ended up going down to use the main lobby washroom because that was cleaner. 2) Dried blood stains on the window curtains - we could not even open them to get some natural light in the room without touching it. 3) Flies all over the breakfast buffet made us feel very uncomfortable eating any of the food - even though breakfast is included, the poor hygiene and unsafe food practices deterred us from even trying it. Ultimately, the hotel was far below our expectations and the poor quality and uncleanliness led us to check out early and find last-minute accommodations elsewhere. Would not recommend staying at this hotel.

We arrived on a Wednesday night, a little tired due to delays both ends of our flight, however our rep from Inghams, the fabulous Katja, had made sure the hotel were aware of our delays to ensure we could grab dinner before it closed at 9 pm. If you book with Inghams and having the pleasure of having Katja as your host, you will discover for yourself how helpful, informative and good fun she is. Restaurant area First impressions on the restaurant area were very good, food for dinner is buffet style with clear chalk labels above the counters as to what it is, most evenings we all managed to find something. There’s a range of meat options, a couple of veggie options and a full salad/fruit area, coupled with an array of mini deserts so you don’t feel guilty taking more than one to try. The hotel asks you only take what you plan to eat to avoid food waste, so it’s good to take a taster and go back if you find something you like. On every night there is always a veggie soup and a meat broth option too. Breakfast includes bread and bread rolls, yogurt in a small fridge, and a variety of cheeses and meats to pick from as well as fruit, which can include bananas, apples, peaches/nectarines, grapes, plums, apricots. Hot options included scrambled eggs, and something described as bacon (very different from UK streaky bacon but that’s the closest it comes to) , sausages, and a frankfurter type sausage, there’s also a ratatouille options, Drinks include variety of teas and machine coffee eg. Espresso, latte and cappuccino. However, be aware the ‘fruit’ drink dispenser is not fruit juice and is instead squash. No fresh juices available at all. Staff in the restaurant area are attentive and at times too much so, the minute a plate is emptied, a waiter/ress pounces on it, and takes it away, this constant activity can make you feel ‘watched’ intensely! It’s kind of like having a human hover fly around at all times. Nonetheless all were welcoming and friendly. Wine if you order it is sold at 100ml glasses, which is somewhat small to the measures in the UK. A variety of soft drinks are on order, and you can’t have tap water on the table, and if you take your own bottle into the restaurant you are asked to remove it. Nonetheless the drinks aren’t too overpriced, and i can recommend the grapefruit Radler (a beer with flavouring, very refreshing). Rooms - We had booked the ‘superior room’ with a Mountain View. I’m not sure this room was any better than a standard room, only that it had a bit more floor space, we had a fold up cube chair, which clearly opened into a single bed, and an office chair, neither of which scream comfort. We had a balcony with two chairs and a small table. It was apparent along these balconies there were flower boxes which straddle the balcony next to you, however, these were all empty. Such a shame. The rooms are very old. There is a smell in the room, probably from the bathroom. Bathroom has mold on it, we found hair on the “clean” towel. Stuff is very friendley, they are trying to help. The rooms are dated, the hotel defenetly needs a renovation.

Older mountain hotel. Room was hot and not great ventilation even with window wide open. There’s no air conditioning. Breakfast was good with extensive selection of meats, cheese, cereal, bread, pastries, juices, eggs, bacon, sausage etc. Get there early as the large groups can clean out the good stuff. Nice staff. Indoor pool with several chaises outside. One major positive was that the staff was very responsive about finding an item left behind and sending it back. Thank you for that!!!

I really enjoyed my stay here, though it was only for one night. Staff was really friendly, breakfast was good too and there is a parking space at the front of the hotel. The only minor thing is that there was no airconditioning, so it was a bit hot in the room. The hotel is a bit outdated but quite well maintained.
