Extremely Disappointing Stay – Definitely Not a 5-Star Hotel!
I had booked a 3-day, 2-night stay at this hotel, specifically requesting a quiet room, NOT a corner room. However, during check-in, I was assigned a corner room on the 1st floor—completely ignoring my request. That was just the beginning of a nightmare stay.
On the second night, around 10 PM, a loud, obnoxious party started right below my room. The noise was unbearable—music blasting, vibrations shaking the floor, and people shouting. It felt like I was staying in a club, not a hotel!
I immediately called the front desk, and the staff casually dismissed my complaint, saying the event would "end soon." An hour passed (11 PM), and nothing changed. I called again, and they gave the same excuse, claiming they would ask them to lower the volume. Guess what? Nothing happened.
By midnight (12 AM), the party was STILL blasting, and this time, the front desk didn’t even bother picking up my calls! At 12:18 AM, completely fed up, I had to go downstairs myself. Only then did the duty manager finally speak to me—and his response was shocking:
"The event will last until 2 AM."
Excuse me?! Is this a hotel or a nightclub? How can you expect guests to rest with this level of noise until 2 AM?! I had specifically requested a quiet room, yet I was placed directly on top of an event hall. Absolutely ridiculous and unacceptable for a so-called "5-star hotel."
Worse still, the duty manager did nothing to help. His brilliant solution? "Write an email to the hotel." Seriously?! That’s how you handle guest complaints at midnight?! Only after I insisted on a solution did another staff member suggest moving me to another room on the second floor—at the opposite end of the hotel. By the time I finally got some peace, it was nearly 12:45 AM.
And what did I get? A quiet room, yes—but with NO VIEW. So much for a comfortable stay.
To make things worse, even days later, I received NO official response from the hotel regarding my complaint. ZERO accountability, ZERO professionalism.
Other issues?
Swimming pool was extremely slippery—an accident waiting to happen.
Overall service was nowhere near 5-star standard.
M Resort and Hotel KL does NOT deserve a 5-star rating. Their service is a joke, and they clearly prioritize events over paying hotel guests. If you actually want to rest during your stay, stay FAR AWAY from this hotel.
Final rating: 1/5 stars. Would never return, and definitely do NOT recommend.
