They say, what's in a name,. This one has Marriott in it!! But just that.
Experienced this in my 4 night stay last week. Am a Bomvoy club member but that was not relevant in this stay as I booked from travel portal.
Assigned room no. 407 at check in. Though the room was decent, it was facing the train track with continuous sound of trains passing by since early morning to late night every 5 to 10 mins or so. The inroom sound insulation is poor. Stayed for a night and next morning requested for a room change. They said no rooms available and their guests prefer the rooms not facing the track and are booked first. I tried to convince but no use. Had a training session at the venue and towards the end of day again requested couple of more people who said no rooms available.
At the third request, I was lucky to contact Mr.Ali who was at the front desk and he allotted me a room on the 11th floor instantly, though it was a twin beds room which I accepted. My point is ;if the rooms are available, why did the others deny? If Mr.Ali can assign the rooms , so can you. It shows the customer focus and commitment which I found only with Mr.Ali. He is a real asset to the hotel. Others need to learn how to handle front office and customers.
The 3 stars I gave is only because of Mr.Ali.
Other than that, there is nothing much about the hotel. The lift needs us to use key cards which are often not detected, the reception phone is rarely answered, rooms have maintenance issues such as mine had broken toilet Jet spray and choked up wash basin which was repaired after request. There is no quality assurance for rooms in place Attached videos self explanatory. The place had minimal options in food for vegetarians which was not pleasing. There are several restaurants within walking distance.
Overall I would advise people not to get deceived with the name Marriott.
