The LimeTree Hotel, Kuching

Muy bien todo, muy amables

Booked via Booking for 60$C a night for 3 nights. Checked in mid afternoon and was provided a decent sized room with queen bed, older wall mounted TV, with decent selection, clean bathroom, small camping fridge available on demand, coffee and tea, The highlight here was the breakfast, with a great laksa station, Malay, Chinese and western food, very well done. Location is actually good, with plenty of restaurants, a the free bus stop one block away (good if you want to go see the Orang Utangs.)

The hotel is located in a convenient spot close to the river, walking distance to everything you need from ATM, convenience store, food and attractions. The staff is very friendly and helpful, ensuring the check in was smooth and any questions I had about tours were attended to promptly. The hotel has a really good buffet breakfast with continential and Sarawak specialities. The room is very comfortable and it was cleaned daily with fresh towels and water. Would definitely recommend this hotel.

Pretty basic as some others have said, but everything you need is provided and can't argue with the price point. Beds are soft-ish considering it's Asia, and pillows are very comfortable. I think they're feather -don't feel like foam. No fancy amenities like dental kits and shampoo bottles, though a little bar of soap is provided. A/C is quiet, it works, and doesn't blow directly on the bed. Two bottles of water replenished daily, and if you need more, it's cheap to buy or free to refill from their purified water stations. Breakfast is very reasonably priced -not a 5 star breakfast, but fast and filling with some variety. No fridge in the room, and no safe, though I felt pretty secure. Rooftop bar was pleasant, but very quiet both nights I was there. Best thing... I had a late afternoon flight and they accommodated a late check-out. It was 40 RM, but that's a pittance for the luxury of staying till 4PM and having another shower.

Great locstion. Can walk yo most tourist places in the city. Lots if street food and restaurants around the corner. I recommend eating in the hotel as food was hot and tasty and affordable. All staff from Reception yo restaurant were extremely kind and helpful. I'd definitely stay there again.

We have stayed at The Lime Tree Hotel on 4 occasions and used it as a base for our stay in Sarawak. We received a warm welcome from TEO on the reception desk when we checked in and were made to feel most welcome. In fact all the reception staff were friendly. The manager Julie was lovely and a regular presence in the reception area and was extremely helpful. We had a 2 day trip to Bako, and it was lovely to return. We then had a 3 day trip to Batang Ai and really appreciated returning here. Finally we visited Tanjung Datu for 3 days and returned today. Great to be back. Sadly this is our last stay before heading to Mulu and then Sabah. We were able to leave our main luggage here when going on our Excursions to the National Parks. It was kept safely in storage until we returned. The rooms were spacious, with a nice powerful shower to refresh ourselves. If you ask, a fridge will be made available to you to keep your water nice and chilled. The breakfast was very enjoyable with plenty of choice. It is only a 15 minute walk from the waterfront, and has plenty of shops and restaurants within a few minutes walk. Best of all, it was incredibly good value. You can pay significantly more to stay at The Waterfront, which is very grand, and has 5 reception staff and porters, but I suspect its far more impersonal. I would prefer to return to this Hotel for any future visit. It felt like a home from home. I would highly recommend this Hotel.
