Poovar is almost at the southern tip of Trivandrum. It marks the end of Kerala. Its very close to Vizhinjan, natural harbor. The origin of the name Poovar has a story related to Marthanda Varma. Before that it was called Pokkumoosapuram. During internal riots in Travancore and while escaping from the Ettuveetil Pillamar (Lords of the Eight Houses), the king reached Poovar. It was a spring season and the trees on either sides of the Neyyar were full of flowers. These flowers fell into the river making it more attractive. On seeing this pleasant scenery, Marthanda Varma commented that this was poo-var, a conjunction of the Malayalam words for flower and river.Visa fler

This property under maintanance for last one year. Horrible experience. Don't recommend this to anyone.

Terrible stay. The rooms are spacious but stinky. No toiletries -Had to use shampoo for bath soap. We have to depend only on the resort for food as the only way to get there is by boat. The pool is a disaster. Unkempt for months. The place is reported to be full of poisonous snakes. Luckily we did not see any . We cut short our stay from 2 days to one. We are members of the Joys Magical Holidays. Probably this is the way they keep the members out

Nice experience.Excellent Vibe ,perfect for an outing for a day or two. Really enjoyed the stay. The senary from the room is great. Food was super.....Ayurvedic centre is having good amenisties and one should try one..Staff was polite and well behaved..

SirWe cancelled our stay this hotel due to bad smell and not completed renewation or not cleaned after COVIDWe are not able to tolerate stay at this.We just stay one night in this hotel and check out around 8.20 am 14-08-2022
