Niraamaya Wellness Retreats Backwaters and Beyond Kumarakom

Here for a family vacation with my elderly parents to visit my father's home town. We checked in late on the first night. There is about 20 stairs from the front entrance to the check in area. The elevator wasn't working. I told the hotel well ahead of time that my parents have limited mobility. There isn't any assistance to help them out to their room from the dining area and the lobby which is 75 meters away. When we get to the room I see my father crawling up the stairs because there is no railing or anything else to hold on to. I ask the manager if they have any railings or if there is any way to help reduce a fall risk and the manager was quite unhelpful. When we got to dinner where 3 tables were occupied, I ask for something quick to get for my small children. I figure chicken nuggets and pappadam would be the fastest thing. After 45 minutes minutes, I ask the waiter if they are ready yet, another 15 minutes before the nuggets came out. Yes, that's right 60 minutes before frozen fried chicken nuggets were ready. The rest of the theyal, thorin, meen curry and dhal came out another 20 minutes later. It's a shame because the staff are nice and the property is beautiful. I just would expect more basic care for guest needs, especially at this price point.

The stay was nothing but average. The room was perfect no doubt and it was super clean. Even the food quality was nice. However, i have to comment on the f&b service, they just had one restaurant and the service was very slow. It took almost 30 mins for any dish to arrive. Moreover, very few veg options.. and the restaurant staff wasn’t that friendly… plus the spa facility was ok.. shirodhara is not recommended here. Pls don’t go for it. The morning Yoga session at the spa was great tho. Must-do for sure! The hi-tea options are so limited.. even tho its for free they have nothing much to serve. And the timing for hi-tea is just half an hr i mean cumon! They need to improve the services for sure!

Resort is good but services are very poor. Staff are very slow and you will get anything demanded only after 3 or 4 reminders. Food is not upto the mark. Very poor response. Untidy bathrooms. Poor bathroom supplies. We booked because of the good rating but sadly regret paying the price for a 5 star accommodation with no amenities. Even 3 other families staying with us were repenting for having booked in Niramaya

The pillows are the fluffiest thing I ever felt…..The rooms are very spacious and comfortable .The simplicity of the door design is massive.food is amazing but service wants to make it little bit faster . Evening activities and Hi-tea is superb me and my family really enjoyed it.special thanks for Mr Piyush Mr Anish Ms soniya Ms sifa & Ms veena Niraamaya is the first priority for my next vacation

The view of the room is massive and very spacious.✨Im very happy with their service and food especially reception is doing a great job.they guide us for activities that we can do in kumarakom. We enjoyed the village experience very much. And also we tasted the toddy. It’s very tasty and a new experience to us. The reception lobby filled with a lot of smiles by soniya sifa and veenaeverytime they are greeting pleasant face. You can take ayurvedic massage from their spa the therapist vishnu is doing a great assistance for us.specal thanks for service team,chef,pradip and entire team

We had a room with a large balcony overlooking lake Vembanad and gorgeous sunsets every evening. Set in the backwaters of Kerala this luxurious resort is an Ayurvedic retreat and therefore attracts a lot of very healthy visitors, but even not so healthy people, us, can have a wonderful relaxing time there. Every afternoon they have an high tea, where you can enjoy tea, coffee and snacks, on the lake lawn watching the sun go down and for your main meals there is the restaurant which offers some delicious food carefully prepared by the wonderful head chef Arun. For day activities you can always go for a boat ride on the crowded backwaters or enjoy some yoga or just lounge around the pool. I would give the staff and especially the restaurant 5 stars but I wouldn’t give that to the resort, it is perfectly nice but it needs quite a bit updating! All in all a very relaxing place to stay for about three days.
