Abad Whispering Palms

During October 2023 I stayed here with my family for 2 days. Room was very clean, I got a room just in front of the lake so view was awesome. The swimming pool was absolutely fantastic. They even arranged a boat ride for us which was an added benefit. Food was also great. I had absolutely great time staying here. I would recommend this hotel to everyone.

The location of this hotel is amazing and the staff are very friendly. However, the beds were the most uncomfortable I have ever experienced, consisting of a worn sprung mattress on a wooden box. Pillows were not that comfortable either and the bedding looked very tired. Sadly I did not get much sleep for the 2 nights we stayed here. The pool is lovely, however there was only 1 parasol available and not enough sun beds, so it was not very comfortable for our group of 21 people. When someone asked about parasols, they were advised they were damaged in a monsoon! There is no air conditioning in reception and dining room, just ceiling fans so it was quite uncomfortable at meal times. Our room did not get serviced during our stay so I had to ask someone for extra bottled water. We did a lovely sunrise boat trip from the hotel. There is also a spa on site offering treatments at a good price, however don’t expect the luxury of western spas.

The service at this hotel by all staff is wonderful. There is a lot of enthusiasm in making you feel welcome and at ease at the hotel. The food range is very nice and tasty. We were a vegetarian group and we had no problem. The hotel building itself is a bit dated and if upgraded would take this hotel to another level. Our special thanks to Rajiv at reception.

Pros: 1. Swimming pool is well maintained. 2. The lake view from the resort is awesome. 3. Cleanliness is maintained inside the rooms. 4. Resort staff have good behavior. Cons: 1. No plain blankets are available here. All they have is heavy rajaais, which are normally used in cold places like Uttarakhand. 2. There is no wash basin inside the room even after being a cottage. For every smaller washes like hand wash, tea cup wash, you have to open the hard auto-closing door and go to washroom to wash them. 3. The resort shouldn't have chosen this area as the road to reach the resort is very narrow. Driving is too difficult here even for the expert drivers as the wider trucks also pass on this same road. 4 Commode water spills outside. 5. The cottages do not have enough clothe drying stands/racks. 6. The brightness of the electric light is insufficient in the cottages. Though there is a balcony through which the natural light enters into the cottage, it is difficult to make over or dress up if we want to proceed anywhere early in the morning. 7.. The cottages are not women friendly. Because the standing mirror inside the room (to dress up) does not have backlights. The mirror, which actually has backlight, is fitted in washroom, which can only be used only for shaving by men and not to dress up or make over by women because of wet floor or other reasons. 8. Usually, the guests opt for such locations to enjoy local weather as well. But the cottages do not have windows to open at night and sleep. What is the use of fully air conditioned room, if you want to enjoy a cool breeze at night?

A lovely hotel with down to earth and friendly staff. The rooms are well situated with good views. We enjoyed the pool and the ping-pong table, breakfast was good and the pillows were soft. It was wonderful to be on the water front highly recommend

The grounds are beautiful. Our rooms have a view of the water with house boats and small boats coming in and out. The sounds of nature are all around us. Rooms are comfortable and spacious with high ceilings. The fan in the room is high powered. AC works wonderfully as temps are in the 80s here in December. The spa staff and services are amazing. Prices compared to the US... fantastic! So we got a service each day we were here - head massage and full body massage were our favorites! The food in the restaurant was wonderful. Buffet is available for breakfast and dinner. So many choices, mostly Indian, but they also included things like pasta, French toast, omelettes to order, etc. You will not leave hungry. We have a member in our group that is gluten free and they were eager to accommodate and at each meal we attended, they recognized us and made sure our needs were met. The entire staff but especially the front desk were the star of the resort. Rajeev and Meenakshi helped us in every way possible. They arranged boat rides for us. We mentioned that we wanted to do a Rickshaw tour of inside the village and within minutes, there were 3 different Rickshaws in front of our hotel. We were given their contact info so we could contact them with any of our needs. Highly recommend this resort!
