Very Clean and extremely convenient, considered transportation network of Kyoto is not as diverse as other major cities in Japan, you can explore the city on foot or by bus, for which the bus stop sited literally right next to the hotel. You can travel to the hotel from Kyoto station by bus or taxi, which takes only 10 mins by taxi. Very helpful and cheerful staff. Overall a pleasant stay

The location is extremely strategy and its walking distance to nearby attractions such as sanjo and shijo dori.

Smack right in the middle of the busy streets of Kyoto. There are shops and food stalls everywhere within walking distance. The train lines too. Staff are friendly and greeted us well when we came in. The place looks nice and has a little Japanese vibe. The rooms were a little small though, so don’t expect too much

Centrally Located with a Few Drawbacks Travel Lodge is located on a shopping street with plenty of places to eat nearby. It’s also within walking distance of Gion, making it a great base for exploring. The location offers easy access to both bus and metro lines, making transportation convenient, and it’s not a far walk to reach either option. They also provide luggage storage, which is helpful. However, be aware that rooms are only cleaned every 4th day, so if you’re staying fewer than four nights (like we did), you won’t have a clean room and you’ll need to grab supplies and exchange towels at the main desk. The hotel breakfast, served at a neighboring restaurant, was a bit of a letdown. It mainly consisted of bread and some oily sides, though the coffee and drink options were good. The room itself was typical for a Japanese hotel—compact, but clean, with a hot shower. Despite the small size, after a long day of walking, you’ll sleep fine! Just keep in mind that check-in is at 3 PM, and check-out is at 10 AM, so plan accordingly!

Very very accessible as this is very much near or 5 minute walk to Gion District & Nishiki Market with its rotating sushi restaurant. Buses ply regularly infront of our hotel. The famous Tatami-Floored Starbucks & the Ninenzaka Old Streets are within walking distance of 30 minutes. Department stores (Uniqlo, BAL) lined up on both sides of Shijo Kawaramachi stretch where Travelodge is located. Grocery, convenience, fast food, drugstore are just around the corner. Our small room is just as comfortable as the bath works high tech & neat. It has its own pasta resto filled up almost all the time. 5-minute walk to train stations & 3-minute walk to nearest bus stop. Location is very convenient. Worth the money.

Located at the shopping area, good place to stay fpr shopping. A little bit far from the train station, but is convenient to take bus.

If you enjoy Urine smell, this hotel is for you. I don’t know how they clean the room and once we opened the room door, urine is what we can smell. Very poor cleanliness, not worth even the location is good.

Location of hotel is good however it can get noisy at night due to the heavy traffic in front of the hotel. Not suitable for light sleepers. Overall hotel is clean.

Hotel’s location is wonderful and strategic enough for families travelling with elderly.

Very comfortable hotel. It is located at the shopping street in Kyoto and easy access to most of the travel spots.

Heart of shopping street and near to everywhere. Will stay at this hotel again !

Room is quite small, breakfast very limited don't expect too much. Location very good, lot of food and shopping around.
