Santiago Guesthouse Kyoto recensioner

One of the worst hostel I have stayed. I have to put on my own bedsheet and blanket cover. The wall on the upper deck are not high, I literally able to see my neighbour sleeping if I were to stand up on my bed (this is a mixed gender room) so this is very concerning issue. There is no lift in the building so I had to climb 4 levels of stairs every single time, go to shower need climb down to level 2. Locker space is so small that I barely fit my laptop in there. Toilets were dirty and bidet wasn’t working.

Would go again 4 nights and lovely mornings with coffee in kitchen that i bought from near by family mart

Decent location near the touristy areas. Good facilities, really nice shower water pressure

It very close to kiyomizutera but you have to take 5-10 minute to walk to closest train station. But you can get bus because it drive along the road in front of hostel. Staff can speak english very good. Public space is good too. They have cafe that you can get food or coffee in good price. For improvement - you have to have ceiling on upper room. It feel not privacy and I can hear everything. - I can heard people talking outside off the room from my bed is at upper and close to the wall. Maybe wall too thin or add soundproofing.

A decent guesthouse with comfy beds and spacious showers. There's a little kitchenette in the luggage/common area. Downsides are the 4pm check-in, which is a bit late and the sleeping cubes. The beds are comfortable and there's plenty of room, but the top beds have an open top. So the noise of anyone moving/snoring or people using the lights is completely unavoidable. The first night was no good because of these factors. Other than that, the location is good and everything is clean and tidy.

My stay here was fine! 15min bus ride from Kyoto station was very handy. And it’s right around the corner from Kiyamizu-dera temple; a popular tourist spot, and a great place to hit if you haven’t already got it on your itinerary. The only real issue - which is colouring my review right now - is that I got pretty awful sleep here. Top bunks don’t have a ‘roof’ covering the bed, so light and noise is more disruptive than usual. Basic facilities, nice common areas on the first two floors for those feeling social, and has a laundry and dryer (which was great for me needing to do two weeks of travel laundry, LOL). In any case, would recommend! Just be aware of your sleep.

Great location and a fair price. My only complaint is having to make my own bed. A minor thing really but this is the only place I stayed in where I had to do that. A little disappointing. Also they charge another 200 yen for a towel. Again the only place on my trip where that was the case. Positives. Coffee in the cafe is offered at a discount. The staff are friendly.

It's a really good price for what they offered! Although it was a mixed dorm with many bunk beds, with the curtains and dark light, it was adequate privacy and I loved that they provided individuallockers with pass codes. Although whatever noises like a yawn or cough it's easily heard in the room.

The people working here were so nice and accomodating, highly reccomend for anyone. The food pricing was a bit eh

Great hostel. I would stay here again. Good amenities. Kitchen, fridge, freezer etc.

Stayed here in this hotel for the second time of my kyoto visit i like the place it’s clean and peaceful hotel front desk is friendly and cooperative enjoyed my stay ☺️

Good guesthouse located near to Tourist attraction and bus stop. You can walk to Kiyomizu temple and others from this place.

Nice Guesthouse. Both staff and guests were nice and friendly. Great location, close to the convenience stores and bus stops. Beds were clean and there were no noises in the dormitory during my stay.

This guesthouse is located near Kiyomizudera. You can literally walk there. It takes only 10 minutes walk to the train station which is very convenient. There's no elevator. You may have a hard time if you have big luggage with you (first hand experience). The bed is very comfortable. Before I even checked in, someone spilled sauces over one of the refrigerators and it stayed like that all of my stays, but other than that, this guesthouse is very clean. Also, the staff is kind and caring. When they know I'm Thai, they spoke my language! I was impressed. Overall, this is a great place to stay with affordable price.
