Really enjoyed this hotel. It is a bit secluded but still walking distance to town. Quiet neighbourhood by the sea and an excellent pool area. The room was small but nice. Great breakfast and easy to find parking. I am determined to return here!

Very relaxing atmosphere, in idyllic surroundings. One can see the sea from pool side rooms, if you are on the first floor even better (we were located on the ground floor but still nice). Staff very kind and super professional, and attentive to details. Breakfast buffet full of options and very regularly replenish so food doesn’t stay stale. Rooms look minimalist at first but everything ones needs is there, and air conditioning works well. 24/7 bar. We will certainly come back.

There are so many beautiful places to choose from in Cadaques so having exemplary service really helps a hotel to stand out. Hotel Sol Ixent really offered that level of service with a highly professional and friendly receptionist giving a warm welcome and making the stay perfect. As well as nice staff, the hotel itself has lovely views, a comfortable and relaxing bar where you can enjoy a glass of excellent Spanish wine. The rooms are spacious, light and airy with large patio doors to a nice balcony space.

The grounds and landscaping are just gorgeous. The rooms are large and very clean, bathrooms are nicely appointed and sufficient size. AC could work a lot better but we were there during a particularly hot spell. Breakfast buffet was delicious and offered a generous assortment of hot and cold items. Staff was friendly and responsive. The property is above the village of Cadaques. Not walking distance for most people but you can easily get to the local public lot and then a 5 minute walk downhill to the waterfront area. We used Diego, the local taxi driver (one of only two!) to get downtown to dinner and back. EU6 each way but well worth it especially in his unique taxi. All in all we absolutely loved Sol Ixent and not only would we go back, it's our intention to definitely get back someday!

I stayed a couple of nights in this hotel in July and it was a good stay. Rooms are confortable, the place is super nice, out of Cadaques center so it is also calm. THe pool area is very nice. Breakfast included in the price is nice. It does not have a dinner service, just a long happy hour.

Spent one night here as a detour stay on our way north from Costa Blanca to Arles. Hotel was lovely. Away from the hustle & bustle of Cadaques (well worth the over mountain trek) the hotel is a welcoming oasis. It offered a room comfortable and quiet, large shower, a small room frigo and free parking. They have a cosy bar with views of the sea - perfect for a wind-down after traveling. There is no dinner service in the evening BUT we were recommended a fantastic waterfront restaurant at about a 20 min walk. (See my review). Breakfast was buffet style and even though we were late risers, there was plenty available. We didn't use the pool but it was large and inviting. All staff are friendly, welcoming and multilingual. Would return in a heartbeat. HIGHLY recommend.

Sol Ixent gave us a great location! The hotel is near some secluded coves and there were so many coves to explore nearby. We almost had the sea to ourselves. The center of Cadaques was teeming with crowds. We were fine with the occassional visit to the center but preferred to spend time by the sea, near the hotel. For those who want to be near the center, the hotel is located away and is a good 20 - 30 min walk, although the walk itself is through a very scenic route. The hotel is built with elegance. Here is a quick summary : PLUS : 1. Elegant building and rooms. My room was one with a garden view, yet I got a very good look at the sea from the spacious verandah 2. The room was clean, cosy and comfortable . The walk in shower was spacious and good and the toiletries were of high quality. 3. The common Lounge was spacious and had great views 4. The staff were very friendly and eager to help. 5. The restaurant design was good as was the dinner. Service was good too. MINUS : 1. The absence of a Tea, Coffee maker in the room was conspicous. 2. There was no designated space for luggage, hence luggage was kept on the floor. 3. The Aircon was not working on cool mode although the weather was warm 4. The Breakfast was Cold. Apart from the usual assortment fo breads and pastries, fruits and cheeses, the egg dishes were also cold. Eggs were made in batches and be it fried egg or scrambled, they were all cold. Ever heard of Hot Plates guys????? Breakfast was a disappointment.

Booked this hotel as I had seen it on a boutique style website. On the positive side, it is very quiet and as it was extremely low occupancy I was given a room upgrade. However, if you are an independent traveller, it is not an ideal option. The website states 15 minutes walk from village - not sure where this is measured from, but if you arrive by bus it is 40 minutes - not a pleasure with luggage, even if only a rucksack. When I mentioned this, the reception claimed this was the drive - this would not add up either, and no that is not what your website says. As a result, I took their claim of a 10 minute walk to Port Lligat with a pinch of salt and left 30 minutes before my slot at the Dali house - just as well. The breakfast was poor - only orange squash, in a major orange producing country and the bread was just toast slices that seemed stale. Of all the paces I stayed on this trip to north eastern Spain this was the most expensive by far and on that basis what was on offer for the price did not match. Check in was extremely slow as only one person available who took ages on a call.

The hotel site is beautifully designed with lovely garden & amazing pool, on a peaceful rocky headland outside Cadaques. Rooms are simple but modern & very clean, each with a small terrace overlooking garden & sea. Helpful, pleasant staff too. Really enjoyed staying here. Hard to understand why reviewers vary so much over the distance of the walk to centre of Cadaques! It took us around 45 mins along the rocky coast path (on hot day). We’re fit & used to walking but even along the roads it was a good half hour, most of which is unlit at night. This was much further than expected, both from reviews & hotel blurb. You could drive but we didn’t want to as then someone has to stay on the soft drinks! (There’s a car-park closer which cuts the walk down to 10 mins.) There were a couple of beach bars slightly closer to the hotel but you couldn’t book & it was still a dark walk back on unmade roads. We would have liked a coffee machine/kettle in the room - don’t think they even had them in the top-priced rooms - although we knew this on booking. Also didn’t realise there was no evening restaurant, which was a shame - as the hotel terrace was so pleasant that we would happily have stayed there to eat once or twice, had this been an option.
