Hello Mu Cang Chai Homestay & Tours

We had a wonderful stay at Hello Mu Cang Chai Homestay. Ly and her family were very welcoming (beautiful smiles). The private cabin/hut (with its own bathroom) was clean, comfortable and offered amazing views. In fact there are 360 degree views of rice terraces and the entire valley from this beautiful location. Both the dinner and breakfasts were delicious and plentiful. Ly and her husband treated and toasted to each guest by sharing their home-made rice wine. We went for an easy, self-guided walk around the valley and had the opportunity to see large groups of people working in organized teams planting rice and hand-held plows being pulled by water buffalo.

If you’re looking for a very interesting experience on the top of a rice terrace overlooking a valley of beautiful rice terraces, Hello Mu Cang Chai Homestay is the place for you! I stayed here for 3 days/4 nights and must admit it was a fascinating and enjoyable experience. The owners, especially Ly, are very friendly and also funny too! The food is also good! On each of my 3 days there I went on local treks with local guide Tong who I highly recommend! Tong grew up in Mu Cang Chai so has an intimate understanding of the terrain, people, and the culture. Definitely request to trek with Tong if you are staying at Mu Cang Chai homestay!

This home stay is just perfect. Let’s start with the breath taking views. The home stay is located at the top of a hill that gives you panoramic view of the breath taking rice fields. Accommodation is comfy and you have everything you need for a good night rest. We did the motorcycle tour that was meant to be a day tour but it was so good that we booked a few extra days on the tour. I can highly recommend Tom as a tour guide. We had the best time he know all the great places. Now the food home cook meal every night and wow this food was 10/10. Probably the best meals we had in Vietnam!!!! Then they’re the host lovely Ly her family and wonderful staff. I can not speak highly enough of the host. We had transportation booked and Ly took us into town with x2 23kg of luggage on the back of a motorcycle. Impressive!!! Then Ly stayed with us to make sure we got our transport ok. The host really go above and beyond. We loved every moment of our stay.

Mu Cang Chai is a hidden gem of Vietnam. It has some of the most stunning views of terraced rice paddies in Vietnam, without the crowds. Hello Mu Cang Chai Homestay had the most amazing views of the area and was set in close proximity to La Pan Tan village, about a 30-minute motorcycle ride from Mu Cang Chai city. The homestay is a series of individual and adorable bungalows, each with its own view of the landscape. The bungalow was simple and clean, with a comfortable bed equipped with a mosquito net and a private bathroom. Each morning we were cooked a fresh and delicious breakfast served in their dining room which had panorama windows looking out at the landscape. It was an incredible way to start each day. Lunch and dinner were also delicious home-cooked meals by Ly, one of the owners. The owners spoke pretty good English. Ly definitely had the best English of anyone we met in the area, and the homestay also had really good wifi. Hello Mu Cang Chai offered many different tours of the area. We booked a guided half-day hike of the surrounding rice paddies followed by a half-day motorcycle tour of the greater Mu Cang Chai area and village. We saw a lot of incredible sights around Mu Cang Chai and it was an amazing way to spend a day. On top of it all, our guide (one of the owners, De) took incredible photos and videos of us throughout the day. It is hard to explain in words how spectacular the scenery was here. I would definitely recommend booking directly with the homestay through Facebook Messenger. Coordinating our stay with the owners through Facebook Messenger was simple and they were able to help coordinate pickup for us from our bus stop after we had the bus driver call them. Once we got to Hello Mu Cang Chai Homestay they were able to coordinate everything we could need or want to do in the area at a reasonable price. Make sure to bring VND, since you need to go into the city to get to an ATM. This was a truly incredible experience and one of the highlights of our time in Vietnam. If you are looking for an uncrowded view of incredible rice terraces, Hello Mu Cang Chai Homestay is the place to go. Mu Cang Chai is a hidden gem and La Pan Tan, the village where this homestay is, might just be the most beautiful part of Mu Cang Chai.
