Our party of two stayed at Al Porto for a total of five nights. As soon as we saw the hotel and the interior, we fell in love with it. Especially since the Jr. Suite we had (#3) came with a balcony that overlooked the lake. We later found out that it was a deluxe version since we had to move to another junior suite (located a floor up, I think it was #7) after the first two nights (we liked Al Porto so much we decided to stay here longer and drove to places instead of the originally planned stay-in-the-city-we-visit mode operandi). The J.S. we had for nights 3-5 faced the town, so not much view to be desired and there was no balcony. It also only had one bathroom/toilet, as opposed to room #3's having a guest toilet next to the entrance, and a separate shower next to the bed (better set up for us since one of us can take a shower while the other brushed teeth). We were disappointed that we could not stay in room #3 longer but the hotel was fully booked so there was nothing we could do about it. The decor is very W-esque. Very modern and simple yet not too minimalist. Bathrooms have nice showers with great water pressure (but no tub, unless you book a suite I believe). The only con is you need a car to get to Lachen, otherwise it is very convenient to get to Zurich (20min drive). Parking is free and ample, the front desk will give you a card to be displayed so you don't have to pay for parking at the parking machine. Occasionally there were "suspicious smells" of animal feces from when the wind blew the wrong way, but that is to be expected in Switzerland outside of major cities. Many residents walked along the lake and passed by the front of the hotel. I enjoyed watching them from the balcony -- it was all very leisurely, as it should be in Switzerland. By the way the Lachen town church is quite impressive, the twin dorms can be seen from the hotel and is very close by.

Enjoyed a business lunch here this week with two colleagues. Easy to find on the lake side with plenty of parking outside. Italian theme. Very friendly and helpful staff. Nice modern and airy restaurant, which is on the ground floor of the hotel. Served by Janine throughout - credit to her. Enjoyed Ravioli which was baked and topped with cheese. Really fresh and tasted lovely. Good choice of daily specials and full menu if desired. Not expensive. Would highly recommend and return.

Super and excellent dinner on December 7 with a group of around 50 business people. Perfect service ! Best place in Lachen with beautiful view to the lake. Can only be recommended! Parking close few meters to the hotel! A trip to Lachen can only be recommended! R. Stutz

Well placed on the lakeshore, great view on the lake (the rooms lakeside obviously). Spacious and superbly decorated rooms, amazing bathrooms .. great and large beds. Great room terraces to sunbath. Rather good room amenities though no minibar. . Very kind staff. Snack bar with terrace and grill restaurant with terrace attached. All good and tasty cuisine with Swiss prices … operating hours of restaurant a bit short (kitchen closes at 2pm…). Room services’ choice very limited( after midnight no bar service.. so better to order or bring wine or other to room …no gym, no sauna/spa. Good value for money.

Lake Zurich, what a beautiful place to stay and then add this hotel and you have a great start to a holiday. The lake front rooms are a must and a balcony an added bonus if available. Helpful staff make your stay even more enjoyable with information about walks and other activities you may desire. Rooms are modern and very clean with a pizza and a steak restaurant available for consideration with an outdoor bar area to enjoy the passing and marine traffic, both of which are moderate.

It was a nice and romantic weekend, small amenities in the room makes the difference. really enjoyed it. The highlight is the Destination charger, the Lakeview and the Milton Brown amenities. It was a nice stay, only negative things was the breakfast and the dinner (in the romantic package you do not have any choice, as well if you have intolerance or allergies), even if you provide this informations few days before.
