Hotel Silken Villa de Laguardia

We came here without a car having got busses from Bilbao. Not easy finding a hotel with a pool and within LaGuardia so worked perfectly. Arguably not a four star but was comfortable and and pool was lovely. Would recommend for the price

If you book or get offered suite 101 don’t accept it. The kitchens are at the other side of the wall to the head of the bed and the kitchen's don’t finish until 00:30 so if you like to sleep when you go to bed and your head is on the pillow make sure you change to another room. They moved us to a smaller room at 00:15 as we had been trying to sort the issue with reception from 11:00 who kept on telling us the kitchen would be closing in 10minutes, simply not true. As well as the noise issue there was an emergency fluorescent light which stayed on, not just the green lights, they tried to resolve this by sellotaping a black bag over the light, god forbid if we had had an emergency situation as the emergency light was covered over, great move by the hotel. As well as the noise and the light, having been moved to another room, we realised our suite had not been part of the hotel’s renovations, room 101 decoration and furnishings were outdated by more than 20yrs. As well as room 101 being outdated the hotel is crying out for some reinvestment to refurbish everything, the exterior is in a desperate state of disrepair, the exterior looks like it’s not been touched for 20yrs. As well as all the above the hotel were offered the opportunity to compensate us and they felt it was sufficient to offer us a box with 3 wines in it and note simply saying ‘sorry for your inconvenience, we took this back to reception and suggested it was inappropriate as we were flying home. For all the inconvenience of moving to a small room with twin beds having booked a suite, not getting to sleep until after 01:30 due to having to move rooms, we checked out being told we ere only being charged for the smaller room and not the temporary use of the suite and we later found out through our correspondence with the hotel manager who was not available at the time of our stay, that we had had a further discount off the smaller twin bedded room of 10%, 10% of what rate we will never know, I’m sure it wouldn’t have been a competitive rate anyway. Avoid like the plague

Not a 4 star hotel If it is, the stars are old, tarnished and some points are missing. No airco in the room although mentioned on their website, no heating between 10am and 6am, so if you’r towels are wet they stay wet. The furniture feel’s like the seventies, and probably is. Vintage when not needed. The swimming pool, the spa were not available because of maintenance. Why both in maintenance at the same time no answer. On the website this was not mentioned, not even when we were there, no rebate was given. Several times new towels were missing. The restaurant is a mix of great steaks, ansjovis and croquettes, but lousy asparagus from can. Service, bar and restaurant were very nice, reception was lacking, when confronted with our remarks, the switched to Spanish. I there was a manager, olthough we were there 3 days, he was nowhere to be seen, very feeble.

A lovely hotel, located 10 minutes walk away from the centre of Laguardia. We booked a superior room over looking the wine fields. The bed was massive and the morning views were tremendous. We booked breakfast one morning to see what it was like, it was ok and priced at €14 pp. The only down side was, if you didn't book a breakfast you had no access for a morning coffee until after the breakfast was served at 10.30am. There were no coffee making facilities in the room. The pool was very relaxing and exceptionally clean. We ate lunch at the hotel one of the days and both thoroughly enjoyed, which was reasonably priced also. Would highly recommend this hotel when visiting the Rioja wine region.

This is an excellent friendly comfortable and well managed hotel. Everything is very clean and the two superb restaurants are welcoming with charming waiting staff. This is an object lesson in how to run a hotel

The hotel is well positioned for visiting Laguardia and has excellent parking. The staff are efficient yet friendly and very helpful. Nice buffet breakfasts and spa offering a range of services. Overall a very pleasant and good value experience !

The room was lovely, the prices for wine are fantastic ( great wines and great local wine knowlege from the friendly bar staff) food looked incredible but I didnt eat there - next time I will do so. - special mention to "Este" on reception for being super helpful and friendly , dealing with all our questions and she recommended some great local things to see.

We booked two nights at this 4* ? Hotel I would not rate this and more than 3 stars no condiments in rooms to make tea or coffee , no room service every day fresh towels etc, mini bar badly stocked witch they charge for. But the one thing that was very annoying was we had ants 🐜 in the room from the first day by the time we were leaving they were everywhere in the room and bathroom couldn't get out quick enough
