Holiday Inn Express & Suites Lake Charles

Customer Service was awesome also Ms Ramona at the front desk was very professional and patient. Room service made sure I had sufficient supplies and the place was super clean. My stay was for almost a week and I enjoyed every second of it, breakfast was served every morning with sufficient juice, fruits and pastries. The breakfast attendant was very pleasant and kind also.

Our front desk person, Ramona, was very nice. The boys enjoyed the outdoor pool. Our room was very musty smelling, and did not improve with running the air conditioning unit. Our room lost power some time in the early morning, and we awoke to no air flow and a stronger musty smell. Breakfast was the usual fare. Overall, acceptable room for a place to lay your head, just a bit stinky.

We arrived at the hotel and I asked if we can have a late check out as we were getting married the next day in the hotel. I was told by Teri to ask the night clerk as they only had 2 of the honeymoon suites and if it got booked we would not be able to. No problem we waited and asked the night clerk and he was so nice and said no one booked it the latest you can stay is 2pm that was perfect. The next morning heading to breakfast the clerk Teri comes right up to us and says you have to be out of the room by 1pm as they had to clean it, I explained the night clerk said 2 and she told me he didn’t have the authority to do that. I go back to the room and look that our room wasn’t even rented out again I go back up to the desk and say why we can’t stay until 2 like the man the night before said and she said to me if you want to stay longer you have to rent the room again. Went back to my fiancé in tears as we had our officiant coming to the hotel to do a quick ceremony there at the hotel. He goes down asks her again and she said you just have to pay for another room and we couldn’t do our ceremony in their beautiful front lobby unless we paid for another night so he did, even though that was making our budget super tight for just to stay 2 more hours. She then tries to make it better by trying to put a flower together for me and my now husband. I’m guessing she was just trying to make whatever commission as the hotel had maybe 3 guests in it. I do have to say praises to the house keeping staff as my fiancé asked 2 of them personally to stay and be witnesses as we needed it and they were so happy to do so, they took videos and pictures for us they were amazing! We also rented their top room and we were in the tub and a cockroach ran out that I killed. I get It Louisiana and it rained but still. All in all Teri tried to ruin our day trying to make an extra buck and tried to sugar coat it before we left. Also the breakfast was terrible other than the bagels, they need to deep clean the juice machine. After all of that though I am happily married and their front foyer was so pretty.

Pros: the bed was clean and comfortable, there was a small chaise lounger to put my suitcase on, friendly staff, and the lobby was nice. However, my bathroom was not clean in the slightest. The floor was very sticky, and the dirtiest place in the bathroom was the shower. As soon as I opened the curtain, I saw at least 10 hairs all over the walls and tub. Additionally, the drain in the tub did not work, and dirty water built up all around my legs while I was showering. After a long day of work travel, I just wanted a clean shower.

Stopped here on our way to New orleans. The staff made the experience. I didn't get her name but she took time to make recommendations and give us directions. We really enjoyed talking to her. The room was clean. Hotel a few minutes from the casinos.

Everything from the clerks at the desk to breakfast was great.the rooms were very clean and fresh and the bathroom was very clean..the cafeteria area was clean and the lady made shure that nothing ran out.she was also very polite and kept the area clean...

Everything about this hotel was wonderful.. It was not only prettier, newer and kinder than most ( the staff was exceptionally nice and helpful) , it was exceptionally clean and well maintained. It was truly a gem at a hreat price. We jave teavelled a lot lately and do not say this lightly!

The staff is very accommodating. Hot breakfast is a fine way to start the day. We are on a 5000 mile round trip From California to Florida and back, staying at Multiple Holiday Inn Express venues. This was our second stay in a week at this location. It’s clean, and in cookie cutter style of all the other Holiday Inn Express hotels we’ve stayed at. I recommend it.
