Best Western Bayou Inn Suites

We stayed at this Best Western hotel in Lake Charles Louisiana on Tuesday, September 17th, 2024. While our stay was a very short one (we arrived late and then departed early), staff on the evening shift and the morning shift were very friendly and helpful.

We stayed at the Best Western Bayou Inn in Lake Charles during our return trip from Texas on vacation. We were supposed to stay at the Best Western Plus Executive Hotel & Suites in Sulphur, but their systems were down and we couldn't check in. So BW customer service arranged this location as a replacement. The exterior is very nice, and the front desk staff were helpful (and their systems were up!). The lot was good and level with plenty of parking and they had carts to help ferry your luggage. Beds had thin mattresses and were just OK. Room was clean, as was bathroom. The style was a bit dated, but OK. AC worked well. TV was large and had quite a few channels. Wireless worked fine. Quality of sleep was fine. No loud noises, no surprises. Breakfast in the morning was good. They had bacon, which was a nice change of pace after having sausages at all previous hotels on our trip. Checkout was fine. But I noted that they put a $100 deposit on my card. It was removed a couple days later. So a pretty good stay. I kind of wonder how the other hotel in Sulphur compared.

I absolutely do not recommend this hotel! The service is poor, the room was filthy, and the TVs, toilet, and phone were not working. The next morning I tried to use the toilet in the downstairs public restroom, but there was no toilet paper, Kleenex, or paper towels. To top it off, the breakfast was so bad that I ate my own leftovers instead.

If this is all you can afford there are worse places to stay. If you can afford to spend $50 more dollars, it's worth it to NOT stay here. The location is a bit sketchy, across the street from a Dollar General and a gas station. The staff are clearly trying, the staff was friendly and obliging. The hotel itself is run down and dingy (not as pictured.) However, the room and elevator had an overwhelming stench of cleaner/deodorizer. We were only staying one night so we toughed it out. Will NOT be back. Would NOT recommend.

As we drove up we saw what I felt was a combination of a tropical resort in the caribbean (palm trees) and honey island swamp. Wonderful to see a place with some personality. Only negatives, and I'm being picky, was a "hardish" bed. The bathroom also smelled too much like disinfectant. The hotel is far enough away from the interstate that it's super quiet allowing for a good nights sleep. Super downside was that breakfast was not until 7am. We had to leave at 6am. Not even some nice coffee at 6am sitting out. The room was HUGE. We stayed in a handicapped accessible room even though we're not handicapped. The room had a sitting/couch area with its own separate tv. The toilet and shower were in a room and the sink area was separate. Nice. Best value for the money I've had in years. Even without eating breakfast.

Last minute booking for the price it wasn't bad. The workers were friendly. And the property was secure. Room smelt clean but could also smell mildew in room. The customer service was excellent. Outside was clean

Hotel provides a good clean room internet and a good breakfast for a good price Staff is polite and the location is convenient to Interstate.We can recommend based on a number of stays over the past months

This was a nice hotel for the price and I was surprised by the large size of the rooms. My room had two TVs and a couch in a separate section. The bed was comfortable. The hotel also had a nice large outdoor pool.

the wife and myself just wanted a quite get away. had a wonderful time they had a large swimming pool which we enjoyed was peaceful and relaxing. went to ****** and enjoyed sights around town. planning on returning next month with some friends.
