Lakeshore Resort

This place exceeded my expecations. Bad reviews must pertain to the time before ownership change and extensive renovations. Alhtough small, the cottage we stayed in was super clean and cozy, with a nice bathroom and shower with decent water pressure, closet, fridge, microwave, coffee maker. Nice porch to drink your coffee/tea/milk in the morning and evening. There are birds, tiny squirrels, chipmunks and deer...Beautiful lake is steps away. Also the amazing horse riding /pack stations (D&F stables 0.6 mi away). The restaurant /bar nearby has a great food. SO much to do! You will not regret your stay here.

After taking the long, windy, narrow potholed road through the Creek fire burn zone (would've been easier traveling towards China Peak side), we found our welcoming cabin tucked in among the RVs above the resort restaurant. We were checked in by the bartender at its popular saloon and restaurant. Our log cabin was cute and cozy, with two queen beds, including one in the loft we didn’t use. The cabin came equipped with a refrigerator, coffee maker and fan, and two chairs to sit on the small deck overlooking the RVs. (The lake is about a 200-yard walk from the cabins.) The restaurant also had a log cabin décor with painted faux-stain glass windows. Its dinner menu had nice options for steak and chicken with upscale pricing -- $85 for dinner for two – two entrees, one dessert, no drinks – not counting trip. Meals were prepared out of a food truck in the back. All the staff were charming and professional.

Spent a couple nights in Cabin L1, was fabulous. Clean. Bar staff (Hailey) was fantastic. Food was phenomenal. Chef Lindsay was a delight & so was her food. Highly recommend. Took a ride up to the Mono Hot Springs while there. Ride up the mountain was definitely an adventure & not for the faint of heart. Be sure to get gassed up in Shaver Lake prior to climbing the mountain. No gas stops beyond that point
