The Angel View Hotel

Myself and partner just had our weekly meal here tonight I don’t know why we have not dined here before the meal we had was outstanding fresh and the staff were amazing extremely busy which was fantastic to see lovely cosy building nice and warm which isn’t often these days

The hotel has a great view of the Angel and that’s about the only positives. Decor was very tired, door latches loose, beds soft. After an early start and long drive we wanted a nice meal and a quiet night. However there was a noisy disco/karaoke so we had to go elsewhere to eat. On our return we spoke to the staff who said they couldn’t move us because they were full and that the music would stop at 11pm. Our room, above the disco, literally vibrated until 11.15pm. In the morning, after an uncomfortable , restless night, we couldn’t wait to leave. Outside there were cigarette butts, empty cans and glasses over the floor. Guest should be contacted about functions prior to visit and given the option whether to stay or not!! We tried to contact the Angel View Hotel for a refund- they did not reply!

My nephew had his wedding at the Angel on 30th March so alot of my family stayed at the hotel the night before the wedding and the day of the wedding and I just want to say a huge thankyou to the Brilliant staff that work at the Angel, we had a couple of wedding issues, nothing to do with the hotel but the bar staff went out of their way to help us, nothing was too much trouble, the rooms were good clean and a comfy bed and the food in the bar was lovely and the food for the wedding day and night was amazing.

Have stayed here many times, but each time it looks more and more tired. It’s difficult to sleep as all the floorboards creak in the corridors and it can be noisy at times. There was also very little power in the shower and it took ages just to get the shampoo out my hair. The rooms aren’t particularly clean and my daughter had faeces over the toilet roll in her room. She took a picture and went to reception and they couldn’t have been less interested. The lad on the desk said “I’m not authorised to deal with that, but I’ll mention it to housekeeping” They don’t replenish your milk etc as they tell you either. All in all this is my last visit.

Booked for an overnight stay on a Saturday. Really good room rate which included a really hearty breakfast. View from the balcony of our room was stunning. Went to the restaurant for evening meal. The food was amazing. The staff were really friendly and couldn't be more helpful. Overall a really pleasant stay and would happily recommend.

Stayed in this hotel for one night on our way up to Northumberland, we took advantage of the special offer £120 for bed breakfast evening meal and what a lovely night we had. The most friendly staff so welcoming, the place is spotlessly clean and so lovely inside and out ,well kept garden's and a great view of the Angel of the North. The evening meal was one of the best meals we have had in a long time, beautifully cooked couldn't fault it at all, breakfast was the same. Our room was also lovely, clean,comfortable, warm and welcoming. We will definitely be staying again . Thank you for such a lovely night !!
