Eskdale Hotel

This is a small, older hotel with the feel of a bed and breakfast. The room was clean. The staff members were all friendly and helpful. We ate breakfast and dinner there each night and the food was always good. It’s conveniently located for touring the Scotland border area

An old but lovely hotel. Our room was small but spotless and so comfortable. Love the decor by the way! Staff were exceptionally friendly and the evening meal we had there was worth every penny, freshly made and piping hot. We had a cooked breakfast; it was served promptly and was perfectly cooked. The dining room is also quite grand and it's nice to see white tablecloths on tables. Not all hotels do this now. A lovely experience and thanks to staff for making us feel welcome.

We spent 2 nights at this pleasant hotel situated on the A7. Its location is great for accessing the Scottish Borders, and a good stop off if, like us, you have travelled up from southern England. The staff were friendly, attentive, and helpful. Our room was clean, toasty warm(temperature outside was chilly), and had a nice en suite bathroom with plenty of instant hot water.The bed was very comfortable. There are two bars and a dining room. I would recommend booking meals as it is a popular eating out place for the locals. I had honey glazed salmon for dinner and enjoyed it so much I had the same on the second evening. My partner had a nicely cooked battered haddock and chips. We went for a pleasant stroll along the river which is just a few minutes walk away. We were particularly taken by the friendliness of the locals, every person we passed smiled and said hello. Summing up, a very pleasant stay
