Econo Lodge

Stayed for one night. Common spaces in desperate need of cleaning. Looked like not vacuumed in months. Rooms and bedding were clean but in need of repair - chunks of wall paper/paint missing from walls, curtains falling down. No breakfast despite being advertised. Had a coffee machine but had to ask front desk for a cup.

This was the most awful experience ever. Dirty and smelly and needs a good cleaning. The toilet bowl had visible feces around the inner rim. The bathtub and sink were scarred and pitted as was the bathroom mirror. The handle on the bathroom sink was impossible to pull up to get water. My husband had to help me each time I wanted to wash my hands. There was an unrepaired hole in the bathroom door that looked like someone had put a fist through it. The heater in the room had not been turned on in quite some time and it smelled of burned toast. We did not use the heater despite the fact that it was so cold. It just smelled too much when turned on. The curtains on the window were dirty and had visible stains on them.The only positive thing I can say is that they had a very nice young woman at the front desk, who offered to clean the toilet. After our complaints we noticed the room had been more carefully cleaned the next day. We would never stay here again and were totally embarrassed because we asked our friends to join us and their room was not clean either. Again the front desk person was very helpful but constrained by management negligence in maintaining the premises. We knew we were staying at a budget hotel but this should not equate to dirty.

I would give this hotel a negative rating. I cant even give it a rating of 1 ( Had to since it wouldn't accept my review). The entrance had an over flowing trash can and that should have alerted me to what was to follow. We were given a room that had blankets with cigarette holes and the corridors reeked of cigarette/ ****. The floors were not cleaned and were strewn with trash/ paper. The A/c was broken and had access to the outside. We asked for another room and that had the A/c intact. We rushed out to buy bed sheets and towels as I wasnt going to sleep or use their linen. When we got back we saw roaches in their bath room and room. The hotel had access through the side door without a key. There was no security and the staff didnt care. We said we were checking out and they didnt care. I am so traumatized by this experience. I was told by the other hotel chain where we finally got a room that this hotel is used as a shelter for the homeless. Along with Quality Inn and Sper 8. DO NOT STAY HERE. This should be closed down.

I had the most upsetting hotel stay at the Ithaca Econo lodge. I paid over $230 for 1 night. Although I knew I was booking a modest hotel, I was expecting at least a decent experience for that price. There is obvious drug trafficking going on in the parking lot. The stairs were disgustingly dirty, like they had not been vacuumed in years, and the room's bathroom was filthy. the worst part of the experience was that there were guests fighting in the hotel corridors all night long. I was traveling with my minor daughter, and she was scared. I was worried about our safety too. This hotel should not be in business.

We reserved a room with two queen beds for three adults in mid January b/c we needed to attend a graduation at Cornell on Memorial Day weekend. We paid in full two months in advance. When we arrived on the dot of 3:00 to check in, we were told that there were no rooms with two queens available, and we could take a single room with one bed and a rollaway or nothing. B/c we had to attend the graduation, we accepted the room, but the rollaway took up all the floor space AND it was extremely saggy and creaky. AND they charged the same rate for the downgraded room as we'd paid for the two queen size beds. They vaguely promised to move us to a bigger room the next night but never did. They swore that the motel was completely booked, but the parking lot was never more than 1/4 full the whole time we were there. No breakfast of any kind. People were hanging out and smoking and joking in the gazebo outside 24/7. A very disreputable motel staffed by dishonest workers. Do NOT recommend.

I am totally fine with hiking motels and clean but simple lodging. This place is a step short of a crack house -local police were here for an hour as we checked in - not sure what the issue was. My sheets were so stained and dirty that I had to ask for new ones form the front desk and lay them over. The room smells like air freshener and smoke - no breakfast, no amenities, bathroom is dirty, shower curtain moldy/dirty, nothing was cleaned, single ply toilet paper - I could go on. But the worst part were the filthy sheets and the bad smell. Oh, and the cigarette burns/holes in all the sheets and coverings. In all my years I have never stayed at such a gross place. This takes the cake. Never again. I don't think it's safe - local druggies hang out here. Two people left as I was getting "cleaner" sheets and didn't even ask for refund.
