Hotel Catalina

TERRIBLE attitude, terrible hotel, recommend never going, this is a scam, no customer care at all. We arrived in the evening super tired, looking forward to sleeping, just to find a super, super!! noisy DJ party in the bar right downstairs boom-boom reverberating through all the walls. We were told the party would go on till about 1am and there were no options for us. Given that the window in the room was broken (yes!), we could not even close it properly to reduce the noise. The room was a total disaster to stay in even for 10 minutes - this level of noise is unhealthy, let alone not conducive to sleep even for those with no sleep issues. The hotel said they could not do anything for us and we left with all our luggage at 22+ to look for another hotel. Believe it or not, the hotel refused to refund us the money, because 'the bookings are non-refundable' and 'we cannot do anything' (said multiple times by the manager). And better yet, "have you not seen where you are booking"? Or "Have you not read the reviews'? Seriously? Since when do you need to be an expert in a city nightlife to book a place? Is there no responsibility when you call yourself a hotel? SUPER disappointed at this attitude!! The managers of this place: you may have kept my 58 euros, but you lost 2 clients FOR LIFE and let's see how many more people will change their mind after they read reviews like that. Good luck with doing business in this most client-unfriendly way.

We loved our stay at Hotel Catalina. The staff were super friendly and helpful and the location was perfect. There were cute coffee corners and places to sit both inside and outside. The beds were so comfortable and the extra for a view over the park was totally worth it. 100% recommend for a visit to the city. As a bonus the open top bus stops right at the park in front we found it great for a look around.

I had a one month stay on a business trip. Sadly, my room looked nothing like the published photos. Small bathroom with stains on the tiled floor and fly screens in a state of disrepair. In-room kettle but had to beg for a mug. And no tea or coffee, need to go to the Hipo Dino supermarket about a 5 minute walk away. There is a fridge but no other facilities. No rugs on the floor. No pictures on the wall. No shades on the lamps. No comfortable chair. Room is made up every other day. The bed and pillows are comfortable. Sheets won't be changed unless specifically requested. No breakfast, but available nearby (no earlier than 0800). Laundry also available a short walk away. There is a popular bar on the ground floor of the building on the street to the rear of the property and the noise on Friday and Saturday evenings is loud. Really loud. It goes on from about 6pm to 2am. Music and general talk that sounds like a constant swarm of bees. I was in room 107 which is directly above. Sleep is very difficult to come by. I had a colleague with a room on the front of the building and he reported similar noise there. There is no escape from it.

Para empezar quiero dejar claro que la chica que nos atendió fue muy muy amable con nosotros , pero al llegar a la habitación ya fue otra cosa Las camas eran muy cómodas, lo único bueno Hacia un calor horrible y el aire acondicionado no funcionaba y para terminar de rematar no podíamos abrir la ventana porque era imposible ya que con ventana cerrada o abierta parecía que estábamos en una discoteca …. Muchísimo ruido. La zona para mi , no es nada segura. Estar en esa zona de noche no te inspira nada de confianza , sin tener que decir que cuando no era la música , era gente discutiendo por fuera y dando gritos. Ya el domingo por la noche pudimos abrir las ventanas ya que se veía que no había música por la noche , pero nos pasamos toda la noche matando mosquitos …… una cantidad exagerada!!!!!!!!!! Un sitio que no volveré a repetir NUNCA. Considero que deberían de indicar ciertos establecimientos donde se encuentran , ya que la mayoría son turistas y no conocen el sitio y cuando llegan se encuentran con esto . Por supuesto a familias con niños no se lo recomendaría ni queriendo, primero por el ruido y luego por el ambiente que hay en esa zona, tanto de mañana, tarde como de noche( sobre todo de noche)

Benché situato nel cuore della movida le camere non sono insonorizzate con grave danno per i turisti che alle 2 di mattina vorrebbero anche riposare. Inoltre nella nostra camera c’era anche cattivo odore ma non si poteva arieggiare per il motivo di cui sopra. La ragazza della reception poi era polemica e non molto collaborativa. Che dire? Pollice verso.

Estoy altamente satisfecho, no solamente por las instalaciones, modernas,sencillas y notablemente insonoras,sino por el trato recibido, especial mención a Daniela, su lenguaje corporal fue tan congruente como su tono de voz sincero y amable a la solución eficaz de un problema ajeno a la propiedad. Agradecer tambien a Myriam y Yann por su trato cercano y genuino superando las expectativas iniciales. Me trataron como a un rey.
