My wife and I visited Lastingham Grange for afternoon tea (compliments of our daughter). People in previous reviews have mentioned the special ambience that LG has and I agree. The room where we ate had a lovely English country house parlour feel to it. I could have stayed all day. The service was efficient and unobtrusive and the afternoon tea itself was very good. There was plenty to eat and drink - so much so that we had to take some of the cakes home with us. The best afternoon tea experience I've ever had.

We had a wonderful anniversary weekend at the Lastingham Grange. We have been here many times, for drinks and dinner, but never stayed the night before. Our room was very well equiped, spacious and quaint. The bathroom was also lovely. The hotel itself feels like you are waling into someone's home, which of course, you are. Which makes the experience all the more welcoming. The terrace and gardens are a delight and extremely well kept. In fact, if you care to explore, there's a lot more to see. All in all, a wonderful weekend, in a beautiful village, in a gorgeous part of England. We will be back!

Such a lovely hotel, full of "old fashioned" service of the very best kind. Would we like our bags taken upstairs, did we need a morning paper, nothing too much trouble and all done with courtesy and a smile. Comfy warm room, so beautifully clean, superb breakfast and splendid afternoon tea in the pretty garden. What more could a lady celebrating her 80th birthday wish for?. Delightful, thank you, we can't wait to go back.

A wonderful place to stay in a beautiful location. The hotel is delightful and refreshingly uncorporate. The staff/ owners were very welcoming and attentive, and the food was delicious. Wonderful walks in every direction and peaceful gardens to relax in. We look forward to returning soon😀

What a fantastic little retreat from the outside world to escape for coffee and a cake in the most super surroundings! The garden is immaculate and the brothers who run the hotel are fantastic and attentive. Had a lovely pics of fruit cake and the warm scones! A really must visit this little gem!

Excellent overnight stay with our two well behaved dogs. Had a meal in the restaurant and it was superb. We sat out on the terrace drinking our wine and it was so peaceful. The hosts were lovely and the location of the hotel couldn’t have been better, straight out and onto the moors. Thank you so much

We enjoyed an extremely delicious lunch on the terrace surrounded by the beautiful gardens, woods and birdsong. This is a very special place of great charm, so refreshing in a world that is overrun with corporate bland hospitality. Thankyou to the very attentive staff. We look forward to coming back.😀

Had a wonderful afternoon tea in the very comfortable lounge. We were made to feel very welcome and the food was delicious. There was a great selection of very fresh sandwiches and really light scones, cakes and desserts. We had a walk in the beautiful gardens afterwards. There is plenty of parking but maybe prepare a map before you go as there was no mobile signal/GPS in the area.

We have just had Sunday lunch here and it was excellent. 5 courses with tea or coffee to follow all for £38 each. It was extremely good value, with an excellent menu, and such large portions which were all absolutely delicious. As previous reviews have said, it is like taking a step back in time regarding the furnishings and decorating but that all adds to the charm of the Grange. The service from the two gentlemen was impeccable and both were charming and really on the ball with service. We will definitely return next time we are visiting the Moors again.
