Went here for dinner while we were staying in Launceston. Nicely decorated lounge area. The food was average and there wasn't a very good choice of food on the menu. The food was OK but felt like the pub needed a better chef thar cared more.

I’ve seen bad pubs but this place was a joke. It seems they have spent all their money on a nice looking central bar then either gave up or ran out of ideas. Basic Food was served with Tesco basic condiments, not even trying to hide it. The place had a strange smell not sure if linked to the wide open toilet doors. There was an interesting crowd glued to the bar and the pub seemed to operate a teenage crèche with pram walking sessions around the bar. I have nothing good to say about this place it’s just so bad. I hate leaving negative reviews but this place has no good points. Really bad. Won’t be back again. Ever.

The room was great. There is still work being done in the hotel but the friendliness of staff there was just great. This was the second time I have been and I’ll certainly come again. Many thanks to everyone. Sharon

My family and I stayed at the Howard’s’ White Hart Hotel in Launceston from 18th to 21st of August 2023 in room 22, and we had a lovely time. Our room was newly renovated with a beautifully light decor, which was spacious and cool at all hours of the day and night. We were also pleasantly surprised with a smart TV and good internet access which was flawless throughout our stay, which is something we’d never had in Cornwall hotels before. Our room was also far enough from the bar area to never hear a thing, nor other guests, once we were in our room for a peaceful night’s sleep. The staff were incredibly friendly, and surprisingly so were other customers/patrons whom constantly offered to buy us drinks and pay for our games of pool. There’s obviously a whole bunch of regulars that happily frequent the White Hart and see it as home. Sincerely I’d never experienced such a welcoming community to strangers on a trip like this before. Each evening we were offered the opportunity of having our own choice of breakfasts made for us the following morning at the time of our choosing, there was always a car park space available for us whenever we arrived back at the hotel, and we were pleasantly surprised on Saturday night by a live band, performed by the owners of the hotel in the bar area, which got everyone in high spirits. I also found the local area very safe to traverse at night, with no disturbances and little light pollution, inviting you to take a walk around the town at night should you feel like it. I would absolutely stay there again and highly recommend Howard’s at the White Hart hotel for anyone looking to stay in North Cornwall. I genuinely don’t understand some of the negative reviews I read on Google, this place was incredibly friendly, clean and welcoming for my family

Sunday lunch at 12.10. Very Reasonable price for a lamb and a beef roast . Meals had plenty of meat. also contained roast potatoes,cauliflower cheese, carrots broccoli and sprouts and a stuffing ball and a Yorkshire pudding.It was all hot but veggies were a bit stodgy. We had a choice of tables and sat by the window on a table with a clean white cotton tablecloth. The staff were very helpful and brought our lunch to the table. The building is clearly in need of an enormous and very costly update. The ladies toilets are clean and have new washbasins and plenty of hand soap and towels.

Booked this hotel way back in February 2023 for 4 people, myself, my husband and our friends. On arrival, July 03 were asked for payment straight away by bank transfer which my husband did. We were quickly shown around and taken to our room. The room looked okay but on closer inspection we noticed there was no hot water for the sink in bathroom, the windows were absolutely filthy and rain poured down from the broken gutters. There was an old wine bottle and used tissues under our bed. My husband reported this straight away. Our friends also had no hot water. Breakfast was absolutely disgusting served by somebody who looked like they needed a good wash. Eggs were swimming in oil and margarine only for toast, no butter. I could honestly write a book about this place. On booking this break, we were not informed about the renovation work. Cables hanging down everywhere, bags of plaster in the corridors, plasterers working. We were absolutely fuming. We paid up for 7 nights but left after 1 and Mike Howard promised to refund our money which he did not. We had to book into 2 further hotels at a considerable cost. Please, please do not waste your time or money. Mike Howard is a total fraudster. He does not pay any suppliers or workmen and is a horrible little man. I am happy to upload photographs of this monstrous place. I work for the NHS and was so looking forward to a break. Mike Howard you ruined this for me.

We dropped in for something to eat on Monday late afternoon. The staff were so very accommodating and the food was amazing. What more could you ask fr on a dreary.wet Monday afternoon. I would recommend to anyone to call in for a meal there

Visited Launceston and decided to support a local business for lunch. Biggest mistake of the entire holiday. The place was grubby and the woman behind the bar couldn't remember our order for more than five seconds

Mike Howard is an absolute scum bag. If you're a tradesman avoid this place like the plague. Infact anyone with any human values please avoid this place. If you want food better than this place, go into burger king, open the bin and look for any scraps. It'll be better quality.
