I am a gold member of Choice Hotels through earning points by using Barclays credit card. We made a free stay reward night reservation by using 16000 points on March 13 2023. When we arrived at the hotel, we realized that the hotel was undergoing renovation because it was full of construction workers everywhere, including the front lobby area. This information was not available on the Web. Front desk worker asked for a credit card for a deposit of $100, which will be returned after the checkout which is normal. However, upon reviewing my online credit card app, i discovered that my card was charged $120, rather than $100. When I brought this over charge to the desk clerk (nice lady), she told me to discuss it with her manager, when we check out next morning. Next morning, we checked out at 530am. Front desk clerk told me that the deposit charge will be reversed within 3 days. Next day I have discovered that the $120 charge was gone and I was satisfied. However, several hours later, $42.40 charge from the hotel appeared. I called the hotel, and demanded for a reason. They discovered that two towels were missing. I admit that I had taken two small towels (12 inch x 12 inch, white) to wash my car windows because the morning was cold and foggy, but charging guests for two small towels is very absurd and also very excessive. I called the hotel and demanded to speak with manager/owner, but still no avail. I will never go back to that hotel. The owner, Mr. Patel, (678)377-0003 has not returned my calls yet. I am not holding my breath
