I stayed here on May 6th for one evening, and was very pleased to find a place that met my top 3 "must have" criteria: Good value, very clean, and very quiet! The room was spacious, very clean and I never heard any noise at all at any time while in my room. The staff person who greeted me was very nice and friendly, as was the gentleman who manned the desk overnight. Great folks. A very pleasant surprise was the spacious desk for using my computer, which also had several electrical plugs so that I could plug in my computer and recharge some devices. Too many hotels/motels only have enough outlets for their electronics, meaning you have to unplug the TV, clock or microwave to get access to any plug in. Kudos to this LaQuinta. The bed was comfortable and I had a good night's sleep and the wake-up call was very reliable. A couple of notes: I never gave it a thought beforehand, but at home I have the taller commodes, but this motel has the standard, low toilets. Having had knee surgery a few months back, it is extremely difficult to get up from a very low position, and there was nothing to grab on to for assistance, except the door handle. Also, startled myself a bit when I put the lid down ... I have damped lids at home, these are standard lids, so when I just pushed them down, they slammed. Oops. As it was a rainy day/night, I was not thrilled by the folks who insisted on smoking right outside the entry door and i had to run the cancer gauntlet, but that's not the motel's fault, just be aware. Breakfast wasn't worth it: I don't eat bis-kits with wallpaper paste gravy and crud in it. The coffee was awful, same sludge you'd get at Starbucks. But these "notes" are simply MY observations, and my problems only. Just notes for those who might share my tastes/biases. ha, ha
